Our trouble is that we don't take games. This one is up for grabs. It's like the players sit down and tell themselves that we can't win - the opposition is better than us. Hawthorn would be struggling to lead a VFL match today.
-
We are making Sam Mitchell look QUICK. He isn't quick, he is slow. This suggests to me that we aren't on the move at stoppages.

Grimes has started well.

Geeez Toumpas panics!! FFS

At least Watts will have Tyson to join him down Casey, should be fun for them.

Fix the Midfield and we'll rise very quickly!

Need a quality ruckman and mid. That would go a LONG way to improving our midfield. First use, free up Jones, Tyson, etc. -
King is the very least of our worries, he is just a prospect atm. Our bigger concerns are who is going to compete with the likes of Mumford, Martin and Goldstein next year? In the short term I can't see any candidates, Jamar is undersized as a ruckman - and getting on.. And Gawn is unproven and yet to show he is up to standard. MFC need a ruckman that is not only up to AFL standard, but able to compete with ruckman who are of high quality (Mumford, Goldstein). At present, our mids are handicapped. In the AFL atm we are seeing sides benefit greatly by having quality ruckman.

He is having an AA type of year. Taken down some AA forwards. But I will admit to being 'over Tom McDonald' many of times in the past few years. Just one of those players that can do amazing things, then ruin it by not spotting up a simple target. Credit to him, he has improved his weaknesses, and is now getting his due. Without a doubt the in form backman in the league. Dunn last year, McDonald this year. I think we got rid of the right bloke in Frawley, and it's good to see other back man step up

THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS

Anything that destabilizes Essendon is good news to wake up to. -
Yeah, pretty good effort considering it was against Sydney's reserves. Sticking 12 tackles and kicking a goal is a good sign - regardless of how many touches he got. I don't know if pick 4 will do the job, but if he states that he wants to leave, we might be able to get a deal done. *Not that he has ever stated he is unhappy at GWS, but I guess if he sees a handful of mids ahead of him - he might make an early call.

Nothing has changed, I still think Brayshaw, Salem and Hogan are our future. I look forward to seeing ANB come through, I'd fast track the kid. Too many of our senior players aren't up to AFL level. Viney will be a welcome addition. McDonald is having a good year. The ruck position is Spencer's to lose. It always was, Jamar is undersized as a ruckman, he only gets by because Gawn is useless, this job is yours to lose now Jake - own it! I think we did ok today, Sydney are a class outfit - who had a bad day - and we are an ordinary side atm. Thankfully we have some promising youth.

You're not wrong. Matt Jones turns the ball over too much to play AFL level. He is an 'ok' VFL player, nothing more.
-
If any SA side offers us anything better than a 3rd round pick for Toumpas - we'd be mad not to take it.
-
Yeah I would've thought a medial, just rest the kid for a few weeks. GIve Michie a shot at it.
-
Garlett goes alright in the midfield. Not sure who he is on, but it is a string to his bow.
-
With Hodge, Lewis, Lake and Frawley out, it is a good time to take on Hawthorn. The Hawthorn we will play next week are half the side Sydney are tonight. Plus, without Hodge and Lewis, Hawthorn didn't look too good on the inside, Sydney are a different story.
-
No, I would agree, you are right. PJ was pivotal. He has been fantastic. Very good signing, he has a lot of work to do. I like what we have done tonight with the breast cancer support. If only we could perform on-field.
-
I don't want to see us play Parker, Mitchell and McVeigh in the wet, they are mudders.
-
Glad we got Brayshaw. He identifies what we need. We are getting smashed in the midfield. Salem playing really well.
-
Sounds like he is conditioning the media for his 'rest period'.
-
Stretch looks very good. He is bigger than I thought he'd be.

Very pleased to hear that ANB shown glimpses. I suspect he will be a good player, I've only ever seen his highlights reel. I thought he was Luke Parker like in the very little of the highlights that I have seen, so it is good to hear he is showing something. Some recruiters rated him a first round prospect. I will be honest, I don't really pay much attention to the others in Casey - other than Oscar Mc/ANB. Excluding Viv Michie, I've seen enough of the others to know that they aren't much chop. Matt Jones, Bail, Grimes, McKenzie and Gawn, simply aren't up to AFL standard. We need to be realistic about some of these guys. They serve their purpose playing VFL, we still need a reasonable VFL side, it is good for the kids coming through.
