Hurley is clearly ahead of the pack of the 08 draft. But if you're getting antsy about Jack Watts' development just take a look at all the other first rounders of that draft who haven't yet fired a shot: Hartlett, Yarran, Vickery, Johnston, Lynch, Cordy - four of them are big guys, and excluding Johnston, Jack is much younger than those players. Or you could always take a look at Goddard's development.

I reckon if we change the price of memberships to $1 each member can buy 150 memberships and if we have 35,000 members than we can sign up . . . 5.25 million members! I'm completely broke this year, and so I've been putting off purchasing my membership. Of course I will do it, but I just don't have the funds atm - and I like to get a full membership instead of a MCC/MFC (silly I know). So my membership card just turned up in the mail with a bill for $185.00. Is this happening to others? Seems an expensive process and a very forthright way of getting people to renew!

We have a few double negatives, Jones-Moloney, Rivers-MacDonald, Bate-Dunn, players that perform similar roles that probably shouldn't be in the same team together. Days where all six of these guys play in the one team will not be happy ones.

It does my head in that we still have no set kick-in strategies. Even if it was our Defence B team there was no cohesion or tactics that I saw. Just the same rabble of the last few years. It also took me half an hour to get a beer. Two people serving about 50. Jetta, Bennell, Maric, Tapscott good. Bate, Macdonald, Rivers, Jones, pretty lamentable. Seeing Jake Spencer run was worth the price of admission though.

10-12 weeks seem a long time for a pec injury, and if I was Shaun Hampson I'd probably intentionally injure myself too to spend more time with Ms Gale.

Davey is so underrated on here. Easily the best MFC player over our dark years and people focus on his 50m penalties. Admittedly, I understand why it's being brought up in this thread but he is in "the thick of it" much more so than Green. As much as I loved Neita, he is evidence that it's not the best solution to have a forward as a captain (especially with our developing, weak-bodied midfield). Davey is well respected and wants to be captain, and Green has never forcefully put his hand up for the gig. It could go either way and neither is perfect for the job tbh.

Thank you for everything Andrew. During his tenure the board completely reinvented the club. I do hope that the club takes him with them to AAMI as some kind of talisman. Hey, anything is worth a shot.

I want to play finals and I think Redleg's OP was spot on. One thing I'll be following very closely is whether some our young, very dormant (polite way of putting it) 20-22 year olds in Spencer, Strauss, Maric and Martin can push for senior selection. ATM I think the last three are all destined for the scrapheap so I'd love to see what they can do.

Neita's 8 goals at the 'G against St Kilda in Round 10 2006, with 4 from outside 50 (and at least two of those from the boundary) was a far more impressive display. Never liked TJ at all, but how the girls did . . .
