  1. I'm worried about Strauss as well; I'm not quite sure what his niche is? He is mid size, mid speed, and, like Maric, was drafted with an "amazing" laser boot that isn't so amazing.
  2. I have a massive soft spot for Jones. He tries his heart out and nothing gets me going more than Jonesy slotting one from outside 50. However he makes PLENTY of mistakes, over and over again. He is a class below the rest of the guys in our team this week.
  3. Very big fan. Only a few teams have proper 'emblems' and this one is the best by some margin.
  4. Exactly right Rhino. People here who are scared of making finals have had their minds warped by the last few years. The MFC exists to win flags; to win flags you have to win finals, to win finals you need experience in finals. Giving the Jack brigade and our young defence the experience of playing finals would be invaluable. We should have beaten "the best team in the land" Collingwood not once, but twice. Should have beaten the Bulldogs (thanks umpires). Destroyed the Swans; nearly beat the Dockers playing one half of football. Apart from two brain farts (vs Hawthorn and West Coast IMO) we are a more dangerous team than Carlton, Sydney and the Kangas. ] Who cares whether we deserve to play finals. Let's bloody well play finals!!!
  5. I think we're more likely to beat Hawthorn than bloody North Melbourne.
  6. McKenzie should be in everyone's bests. 6 - Frawley 5 - Sylvia 4 - Jamar 3 - McKenzie 2 - Green 1 - Bartram
  7. Riewoldt's mark against the Swans at the SCG is the most courageous thing I've ever seen a player do. Not a pack crasher? Watch more St Kilda games me thinks.
  8. I didn't want this thread to go like this. I am allowed to voice my disapproval at the disgraceful set shots for goal late in the game. However I was "shaking in anger" at the umpires, not those three particular players. Watts was great and Dunn was pretty good all day. Syliva also missed two gettable goals, as did Bate. Cameron Bruce gave away three free kicks and a goal in the first quarter. No-one specifically is to blame but I'm amazed people are almost happy to have lost. "We did not deserve it etc" You've all forgotten the point of football. Of course there are salient reasons we lost, but it's almost as if it's not cool to be angry anymore when the MFC lose on here. It's jammed packed full of hyper-sensitive apologists whose minds have been absolutely warped by the last three years. I take every loss extremely hard, I've been to every Melbourne game this year (including all pre-season games in Melbourne) and I'm super [censored] off when we lose every time. It's the way it should be.
  9. Jones was great in the second half.
  10. 6. Macdonald 5. Bennell 4. Rivers 3. Johnson 2. Mckenzie 1. Scully I'm not giving votes to clanger kings.
  11. On the official AFL site, Macdonald isn't listed in the best.
  12. F*** that we should win!!! We apply ourselves and we can take down the Bulldogs, Pies, Freo, genuinely good teams! We can win these games, we shouldn't be complacent or make excuses (and I've read one million posts on all our reasons for losing). There are no more draft picks to get. There are no excuses for missing easy set shots. We should be winning these games now. They instill confidence, boost membership, provide incentive for people to get on board the club, make us happy during our weeks! It's been three and a half years of garbage. We should have snatched that game.
  13. What happened to Moloney?
  14. Bate Dunn and Watts? Or the yellow maggots? Who else is shaking with anger right now . . .
  15. People are too harsh on Cale, but generally the reasons are: 1. His inability to put on muscle 2. His Jekyll & Hyde disposal 3. With him in the team our winning % is 16% since he started playing. Without him, it goes up to 35%.
  16. Isn;t he also the only #1 pick to play in a premiership?
  17. I was 13 at the Carlton final. First time I completely lost my voice. Could not muster a sound afterwards. I was sitting behind the goals under the level 2 grandstand and could not see much but I was going absolutely bananas. Still the best game I've ever been to.
  18. Don't mind the Suns personally.
  19. I am quietly confident. This isn't AAMI after all. Sylvia usually plays well at Subi so watch out for him.
  20. Oh joy one of our senior players stood up against completely [censored] weak opposition. Let's all pat him on the back. Good work number 32. It is ****ing expected.
  21. Hi All, I haven't purchased visitors tickets for a long time from the MCC; What is the best method of purchasing them without going into the ground? How do you guys do it? And were they always $40? I remember them being cheaper. Trying to get a Dawks supporter to come; don't think he'll lay out that moolah. Regards, GL.
  22. Bate = glorified Newton Nickname should be MIA
  23. First time this year I've turned a game off. 10minute mark second quarter; see ya later! I was at my folks house visiting my old man and found that I was swearing a bit much. Slow start, no pressure, over handballing, no forward line, bad kick outs etc etc. I gave up.
  24. We always play well on QB. We always play terribly at AAMI. That's all the reasons we need to make changes.
  25. Strauss is god awful 1 on 1. Fitzpatrick is faster than I thought he would be. Not a great game to watch.
