When was the last time this would have happened? In previous years we wouldn't get 4 in the team of the week with a decent win in a split round!

Remembering Rob Flower (The Robert Flower Wing)
Redbeard replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
Been on holidays for a week and away from DL and didn't know this was happening. Was quite emotional seeing a shot of the signage on the telly in my hotel room. Very happy the MFC have come through with this tribute -
H's steal was an absolute beauty. And Jack's tap was perfection, in regular time it was hard to see but that slow replay showed what brilliant vision he had. Plus all those little things we'd missed, 1%ers, leadership, confidence. Felt good

For chromecast users if you have a recent android device (using 4.4 if I remember correctly) you can go into the chromecast app and press 'cast screen' in the menu and you can watch whatever is on your screen. I've done this the last two weeks and it's watchable, nowhere near hd though. Since today's game is being streamed online downloading the chromecast add on in chrome on the computer and casting a chrome tab may be better quality, although I'm no expert on this yet

Melbourne v Fremantle @ Fremantle Oval - 5th March, 2015
Redbeard replied to Bleeds_Red_&_Blue's topic in Melbourne Demons
Have just signed up for the AFL Live subscription since the NAB games are free. Going to give it a crack casting the screen from my phone to the telly through the chromecast. Hope it works, can't be bothered going to the pub tonight. Bloddy excited to see Hogan play!!! -
Kiss of death? Didn't the Meatloaf fiasco teach them anything?
Redbeard replied to hardtack's topic in Melbourne Demons
My mate's and I have this discussion every year. Consensus usually is for an Aussie band, but it has to be someone who will get people a little excited and has a good stack of hits, not just the flavour of the week (remember the Temper Trap, bloke just stood there, had the whole runway and boringly didn't move). My vote who ticks all the boxes is The Living End. Almost everyone knows them, they have lots of hits and they have energy and put on a show. Dunno how many other Aussie bands (apart from Acca Dacca) would tick all the boxes -
On here I'd probably say it's because the deeper shade is a bit easier on the eyes, not as bright so makes the viewing a little better

Training - Wednesday 11th February, 2015 at Casey Fields
Redbeard replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Has Fitz bulked up? With his height and being one of the fastest blokes in the club, added bulk could become a devastating combination. I really hope this is his year, we've seen glimpses, I'm ready for consistency -
Match Day Experience - time to lift our game
Redbeard replied to Leoncelli_36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I vaguely remember reading an article a long time ago when we first were pushing into China that we were moving away from he Demons and using Melbourne more as demons were considered bad in Chinese culture. I remember being disgusted that we were dropping the demon for the chance at making money abroad -
Match Day Experience - time to lift our game

They definitely need to bring back the pregame game, whether it's the under 18's, reserves or the women's teams. Went to the Dees Dogs game last year excited to finaly see some footy being played before the main game, was shattered to find out it started at some ridiculous time like 10am -
And they make sure to let you know they did it first, before it was cool!

Do you have a Chromecast? I can mirror my phone/tablet screen through the chromecast app. Not HD but does the job when in a pinch and can easily tell the teams apart

I was at the Tooborac Brewery (on the way up to Echuca) a few months back doing a brewery tour and tastings and they had just got a new head brewer, top bloke, who came from Moo, he said come back in a few months once he's settled has has the new equipment installed and he'll be trying some new stuff. Bout time for a road trip I reckon

Grab an international membership, if you aren't already a member it works out that you get a Dees membership on top of the AFL subscription for about thirty bucks. If you're already a member get the digital add on as it's cheaper through the club than from the AFL. http://membership.melbournefc.com.au/packages/view/199/International-Digital-Membership

I reckon it may have something to do with the amount of posts you've made. My guess by having a quick squizz at other poster's dots is 1- less than 50 2- 50-500 3- 500-1000 and so on and so on. Whispering jack has nigh 11,000 posts and is on 6 dots

I'm another fan of the global pass, works a treat and love the option of watching any game live or in replay. Is your son a member? If not the Dees offer an international membership for $179 that includes the $149 AFL global pass (so he gets a Dees membership for $30). Or if he is a member you can get an add on to your Dees membership where they give you the global pass for $110 saving him $39. It's all here http://membership.melbournefc.com.au/packages/view/199/International-Digital-Membership

I'm a big fan of Thunder Road's beers. Most likely because they're close to where I live and I'm a very lazy person. They won best medium sized brewer at the Aussie beer awards this year knocking off Mountain Goat. We just knocked off a barrel of (dare I say it) Collingwood Draught at home yesterday
