  1. I did that when I was about 16. Always kicked left at training and kick to kick at school. It became natural for me to use my left if I was on that side. Sadly it was the only part of my game that was any good. I've noticed a lot the past few years blokes kicking checksides on the run when pushed to their left, really surprised me as I thought kids would have developed it by the time they hit the big league
  2. Perhaps the lack of numbers on the guernseys was due to the jumper presentation being tonight
  3. I didn't watch too closely in the second half as I dislocated my finger at the halftime heroes kick to kick, but I saw a lot of Carlton players running forward whilst their Dees opponents couldn't keep up or were walking exhausted with their hands on their hips. Blues definitely had a lot more endurance
  4. Had a bit of a laugh whilst reading the comments on Facebook about one of these articles. A bitter Hawks fan said something along the lines of "What will Lewis be doing at the Dees now he can't do this?" To which a witty Dee piped up "Having the ball hit down his throat by Maxy" In regard to the high tackle rule do the umpires have the ability to penalise for attempting to make the tackle go high or will it just be play on? I've always thought the only way to stamp out ducking and diving is to pay a free kick against the actor.
  5. Brissie with the twin towers of Sabrina and Tayla will be the team causing the biggest headaches for backline players
  6. I can't believe our home ground is at Casey. You want this game to grow and attract money paying fans and you send us out there. Will be interesting to see the gate numbers of us compared to other teams, I reckon we'll be right down the bottom
  7. Hey MT64 if it's a bit hard to upload the photos on here you might find it easier to upload them all to a website like photobucket or Flickr and then post the link on here
  8. Anyone got an idea why they didn't choose him with their earlier pick? Why pass then get him with the next one?
  9. I learnt the second verse as a little tacker in the 80's due to this even curiouser old book! Can only remember the first 2 lines of it now!
  10. I'm a foundation member of the women's team and all correspondence I've received from that has been from the main Dees email. I'd say your best bet is to call and speak to someone directly, I've always found a much better strike rate over the phone than with emails that often get overlooked. Here's all the contract details for the club m.melbournefc.com.au/club/contact-us
  11. In regards to H, I played with a fella who got a couple of successive head knocks, had terrible headaches for over a year, wasn't allowed to drive and was never allowed to play again. I could totally understand if H was still feeling the efdects
  12. I'm glad to read that, I've found it astounding the last few seasons seeing young players all over the league kicking a checkside to pass the ball where a left foot kick should have been used.
  13. Judging by the video it goes by this year's draft order
  14. I'm looking forward to putting the lapel pin on the collar of my duffel coat with my 10yr membership and Snoopy in a Dees guernsey pin. I'll be interested in seeing what off field invites we get throughout the season, there has to be some perks to being a foundation member over a regular member I'm assuming
  15. Has any more details come out about the actual incident? Was it morning after or late at night, was he just over or full as a boot? When would the likely date for court be during the season or does it happen pretty quick?
  16. Here's an article that has all the payments broken down to what receive and what they earn an hour. It also mentions that they receive income protection insurance and medials costs provided, it is just private healthcare that isn't included, the fellas have to pay for that themselves as well. http://www.girlsplayfooty.com/2016/11/breaking-down-new-afl-womens-player-pay.html?m=1
  17. I think she wanted the number she's played under all these years at Darebin
  18. They occasionally have a day with a BBQ don't they? The school holidays is a good point, there's big potential there to make a fun day and get lots of kids invilved
  19. Ha I wish I could, off work with a bung wing so that's why I was able to come watch
  20. I think that's a wrap. Sorry I don't have too much to say, reporting isn't my forte and being this is the first training I've ever been to I can't compare it to anything. Looks like they might be interviewing Gus for the DeeTV so might see that online layer today
  21. Have had to ask Saty who a fair few of them are. Been running lots of laps. I think it's Bugg (don't quote me though) who has been at the front a lot
  22. Watching the rehab group do short leads and kicks. Mitch King's kicking is pretty darn average, 25, 30m kicks to a soft lead out in front and he's maybe hitting the target 1 out of 5
  23. Tommy Mac is hanging out with the warmup group, he's not in the training kit, just in a pair of boardies and a tshirt. Like I said I'm useless with recognising players so I won't have heaps to say individually. Can see big Spencil out there and Nev, not sure how many other older ones are out
