Ben Holland (quad) - available

John Meesen (ankle) - test

Paul Johnson (hand) - 3 weeks

Ricky Petterd (groin) - 4-6 weeks

Jack Grimes (back) - indefinite

Petterd looks a worry - now 4-6 weeks. OP? Will we see him again this year? I fear not.

As for Grimes -

He was drafted with the knowledge that he was recovering from stress fractures in the back.

Apparantly he has now got issues with his lower leg, apparently strees related and as well as "groin" problems that we are now hearing reports about.

My spies tell me he definately will not play seniors at all this year.

The positives are that he is said to have impeccable leadership qualities.

But...

Unfortunately his body (as does Col Sylvia's) appears to have a vulnerability to high workload professional trainning.

In this day and age, we want and we need our footballers to gobble up the trainning workload and then want some more, a la Ben Cousins' trainning regime that we have heard about.

I am gobsmacked!

Absolute shite for Petterd.

Poor kid goes from a life-threatening lung injury to the dreaded 4-6 weeks 'groin' injury.

:(:(

But hey, Holland is listed as a 'test'... yippee :P

Yeah thats a real [censored] about Petterd, no doubt he is in our best 22.

On the upside, Meesen listed as a test is a good thing. It might signal the end of Jamar.

One can only hope!!

Meesen has got to do something first to get a game. No matter what you may think, Jamar's form at Sandy has been truckloads better than that of Meesen's. Expect Jamar there for another couple of weeks.

on the upside its a relatively small list, and in a finals contending year we would probably be happy about it - no big name players no key players. however in a developing year there are a number of names there that are no good. grimes, petterd, PJ, meesen and molony who isnt listed. bates been injured and now miller is suspended. thats a fair chunk of the list to be out of the side when you really want them to be playing most weeks.

Hey! We're still contending for the finals this year! Cameron Bruce told us so

In a Paul Williams inerview on the MFC website before the North game, he stated that if Jamar didnt perform, then Meesen would come in the next week

Not 100% sure on Meesen injury wise, but Jamar certainly didnt perform against North

The reason Moloney isn't mentioned might be because he isn't injured....funny that.

yes he hasnt been listed all year. funny how he missed 2 games games (didn't even play for sandy) before having another urn for sandy this week.

he isn't injured right now, but he has been injured, and as we've seen so far this year, bailey expects players to play a game or two at sandy before they get selected in the mfc side. i would also suggest that 1 good game in the sandy side isnt always enough to get back into the mfc side. a couple of players have been shown that they need to produce continued results to be considered. learn to dominant the play, and learn to be consistent is the message hear i think.

Bater?? How far is he away?

i second that! where is he? i thought he'd definitely be in the team this week

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
