We all jump on this site and give our opinions, but today 23,000 people attended a game between two Victorian clubs, IMO 75% North Melbourne supporters so I would love to know which posters on this site attend todays game. Because if you didn't you let the club down just as much as the players.

Statements like this really [censored] me off!!!

I am a top level member and have been for the past 10 years!

I also donate an extra $1,000 to the club every year on top of my membership fees!

I have lived in Adelaide for the past 5 years and have travelled to Melbourne at every opportunity to see my beloved Demons play!

I will be the first one to stand up and say I was not there!

You sit back and tell me that I have let the club down?!?!?!

**** YOU!!

I ask for nothing in return for what I give to the club!

Only the pride in knowing that on the day that we win the flag we have all been waiting for, I will be able to celebrate with a few beers and feel content in the fact that I have done my little bit to help us on the journey!

I spend countless hours each and every week as team manager of my local football club, as well as all day Saturday.... Trying to bring the best out of the young men who one day dream of playing in the AFL....

I am so jealous of the people back home in Melbourne who have the opportunity every week to watch Melbourne play!

I miss it so F***ing much it hurts!

That is the whole reason I post on this site!

To feel at home again!

I am a proud Victorian and a loyal Melbourne member till I die!

I am also a proud DemonLand poster who didn't attend the North Melbourne game!

.......End of rant.......

I'm a proud melbourne supporter who lived in melbourne for 21 years & was at every mfc game i could possibly attend (worked lots of weekends), including most of the games at geelong. in a sad way i wish i could be attending these games now because i always believed in flying the flag, just being there to add bit of red & blue (& barracking) to the crowd & always using my experience & attitude to debunk the stereotype. so that people who were so unoriginal to go the "snow & range rovers" line could say "but we know dreamin' man & he's knowledgeable & loyal & fantatical."

relocated last year & am trying to do my bit from afar.

i) am holding my head high in the face of much hilarity about the club; ii) have paid about $350 for my usual afl melbourne club support for which i'll get 0 value; & iii) have encouraged/shamed a couple of "typically" blase melbourne supporters into joining because of the dire circumstances.

also keep reminding locals that, in the words of melbourne supporter rob sitch, "we threw this party, everyone else is just guests".

hope you can understand the frustrations & efforts of those unable to be at games. no lack of loyalty!

I think this thread is more-so directed at people who could have attended today's game because they live in Melbourne, but didn't.

23,000 is a shocking crowd for two Melbourne teams. I blame it on Roos supporters though. They've been travelling decently. They would be very disappointed in that number.

And I laugh at them if they sincerely believe they have 30,000 and all of which are actually Roos supporters. I know 6 people who bought memberships who are either Richmond or Melbourne members, but bought one to keep them in Melbourne. They won't buy one next year. I'm confident the Roos membership will go down to 23k or thereabouts next year. And I think they'll move in 5 years to West Sydney.

Not half as disappointed as we should be. The vast majority of the crowd were in blue and white.

As I was riding to the ground, P.McNamee was on ABC Grandstand banging on about the 'heartland' support for an 'iconic' club.

When I arrived, I saw that virtually none of these heartland iconographers had bothered to attend.

What are you gonna do? Nobody wants to watch cr*p football.

With good reason.

The old 'I did X and anybody who didn't is inferior' is a juvenile bit of self-aggrandisement.

Ironically, this feeble effort can only produce an effect contrary to drdrake's intent.

drdrake: you sir, are a loser.

Those that religiously go week in week out..... good for you

Those that go every now and then.......... good for you

Those that manage maybe a game or two a year.........good for you

Those that maybe get to a game every year or so....good for you

Those that cant attend but provide in other manners...good for you

Those that are members...good for you

Those that arent members but still love the red and blue....goon inya

Those that realy couldnt give a rats arse what any one else thinks and has a life and does what they want..and barracks for Melbourne.....good for you as well !!

Lifes too short to condemn yourself to fitting someone else's mould !!

I agree.

Btw, I was at the game and the estimate that 75% of attendees were Roos supporters is exaggerated.

I'd guess at 60/40. The person I attended the game with put it at 55/45.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
