I'm planning on going up (I'm mustard, I know), but to be honest I don't really have anyone who can post up live scores from me or anything. I will definitely do some sort of Match report by Saturday avo though. Hopefully take the camera, though I'm not optimistic about night time and amateur photo skills being a successful combination.

Exactly what i was thinking, it's great they're giving other areas a chance to see some AFL but given that we've been to Geelong and Carins isn't it about time we got to see our team live!?

I don't know that I'll have the patience to sit around and wait if Demonland decides to go into meltdown again, and I'm not going to [censored] myself between the two sites either, so Demonologists will have to come on over.

We are the oldest football club in the world, this is our 150th year and what do they do to us?

They steal the 150th year idea and then they shunt us off to play pre season games anywhere but MELBOURNE.

No matter what happens on Friday night I expect our Board to have something to say if our fans can see their team at least once in the pre season in their own home town where the game was born and where this special anniversary can be properly promoted.

First of all thanks to Diablo for volunteering to do a report and SMS the scores from Bendigo.

I'm not sure why we had the outage on Friday night, perhaps it was due to the system getting fatigue about our loss. I hope that Nasher can use some psychology with the system in the future so that it doesn't get upset at these things or better still that we win and it doesn't get upset at all.

Perhaps we could have one person at Demonology designated to get the scores and relay them onto the site over there. It would probably be more efficient than having everybody to log onto both sites and jam both systems (in which case we won't find out the scores until well into Satruday evening going by the publicity we get from the media compared with Collingwood that scored write ups bigger than for our senior game for its VFL team).

I think clubs in general have been scattered all around Australia. We're not the only ones. Some would argue Geelong and Bendigo are better than other options we could've been given.

Kangaroos have done Darwin and are off to Subiaco.

Richmond have had Cairns and now off to Narrandera.

Geelong had Canberra and are off to Gold Coast.

I agree its a shame we have yet to play in Melbourne, but I don't think we've been hardly done by. The AFL are forcing everyone to travel rediculous distances to 'promote the game'.

The outage on Friday night was completely unrelated to the swarm of hits. Performance right up until it died was absolutely fine, the server is more than robust enough to cope with a few hundred sissy little Demonland hits. If it were that, it would've slowly gotten worse and worse and ground to a halt (like Demonlogy did), rather than working fine one second then being dead the next.

Anyway, rambling. Still haven't identified the cause of the prob but I'll try to by Friday!

The problem Jack is that there is minimal practice games scheduled in Melbourne over the next two weeks. I believe 2 per weekend.

So on the last week, it wouldn't surprise me if we head off interstate again because:

-we've only been interstate once

- There are only 2 or 3 practice games scheduled on the last weekend - one in Cranbourne , one at McLabour Park and one other if we're lucky.

It sucks but I can see why we haven't played a game in Melbourne.

But has anyone stop to think that maybe Melbourne requested "Out of Melbourne" venues?

Does anyone actually know for fact, that we have requested, or would prefer a Melbourne venue during pre-season?

Fair points. You would have to think that there won't be too much fist-waving if we DON'T get a game in Melbourne, because the primary concern for the club at the moment is getting the players ready for Rd 1. To this end, the 'travel' that we've had to embark on to Geelong and Bendigo has been pretty minor. As much as I'd like to see them speak up, I don't think they'll see fit to.

If you read my last comment, you'll see that I'm saying that there is more to this time of year than taking care of supporters, members and prospective members.

A couple of weeks ago, I was thinking along the lines that it was all important to get in front of people, perform and get mouths wagging etc.- but now I'm not so sure

My theory, as I have stated in another thread, is that the Dee's are playing it as low key as they possibly can, and playing outside of Melbourne away from the Cameras and spies, certainly fits with that.

If you put all of the pieces of the puzzle together, it paints a very clear picture of what they are up to - but you need to look at the big picture, and not just focus in on the minor details

I think Bailey clearly knows he has the wheelbarrow in front of him at MFC and would realise that it was highly unlikely there would be any outperformance risk from the "under 16s".

If an opposition club (clubs) wanted to, they would have spies in penguin suits on Antarctica if you were playing there.

It does fit, just look at the lack of media coverage, match details for supporters etc. Looks and sounds very much like a stealth bomber flying under the radar to me.

Besides style of play, it has the affect of keeping things quiet. And also, keeps people from knowing too much about the state of our conditioning

If our opponent round 1 Hawthorn or any opponent wanted to know how we play, who we will play they will get to a training session or back o bourke scratch match.

I think we are more trying to get our cards in order for round 1 rather than hiding trumps.
