Bailey's Stars

I love Dean Bailey!

I know he hasn't won a single game for us yet, but I love him.

I love his attitude, I love his philosophies and I wish I believed in anything as much as he believes in the game of AFL and this club.

Can't wait till the footy starts again!

It sounds like he's trying to instill a whole new culture at Melbourne, and it's about time!

I really like the way the club is heading and i know we might not win it this year but you just get the feeling that we are not going to just fall over and take a position at 15th again this year but that we are going 2 challenge what ever comes towards us and I know that we are going 2 surprise alot of clubs this year and beyond!!

CARN THE DEES!!

"Even Isaac Weetra is feeling like he can play the game. That's what excites a new coach."

Is that supposed to suggest that this comes as a surprise to Bailey and that he might not think the kid's up to playing the game?

I'd say it's more a reflection of the kid's mindset rather than playing ability. He's suggesting that Weetra hasn't dropped his bundle despite playing for Sandy 2nds last year.

I'd love to see Colin Garland step up this year.

That's exactly how I took it to mean.

Btw, you have to be impressed with the team Bailey has assembled off-field. Three premiership players in Wellman, Mahoney and Williams (albeit Williams joined us in 07); an ex-AFL coach in Connolly; Prendergast and O'Donnell (the latter spent a long time at Windy Hill didn't he??)

i think whatever happens next year we wont be left wondering.

for me, the most frustrating thing about the dees is that they never seem to be going 100% totally flat out...sure if you are in crap form and cant kick you cant kick, but ffs you can always chase and tackle and shepherd and apply pressure to the opposition - no matter how good you are. and i really think that we will have a [censored] good dip under bailey. then even if we come 15th, at least we can say, well, we were [censored], but we really did do our best.

ps this is why i still love simon godfrey

these so called experts had the Dogs, Saints and Freo all finishing in the top six places. anything can happen. players get tested every week on the coaches tactics, how good is that. ive got three $100 bets with a Carlton supporter at work

1- Dees finish higher than Carlton after round 22

2- Dees to make the 8

3- Carlton not to make the 8

he has the opposite. at worst 2@3 will cancell each other out. im confident ill win $300

im confident you will win $300 too!!!!

but dont forget

they have kruezer!!!!!!

*surrenders to the shock and awe caused*

and the Fev. cant see draftees from any of the 16 clubs having a HUGE impact next year. think our younger guys have a few more games in the bank. will be heading to Geelong for our opening NAB clash. cant wait to see the new gameplan unveiled and how the boys line up. no more talk about Miller for now.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
