Daniel Hughes - does he stay or go?

Daniel Hughes has been on the club's rookie list for two years but doesn't seem to have really advanced himself in any meaningful way.

Can he be kept on the rookie list for another year?

Should he be kept at the club or will he be one final delistment before the pre season starts?

I reckon Daniel Hughes could make it as an AFL footballer.

he is a guy that could play now..but he is too good for vfl standard and suffers accordingly

I've seen him at sandy a couple times and he has great skills, not overly quick but great by foot and good hands. He would be a very handy Half Forward Flanker/Winger.

i think he should stay. has had op most of this year and would have been promoted ahead of bode if fit. handy steve johnson type. I think he must be staying considering they have delisted other players like neaves. Enough draft picks to promote i think. Not sure the rules of the promotion though. WHen and how do we do it?

Isn't two years the limit to be on a rookie list? Therefore its Senior list or bust for Hughes.

He showed a bit in the opening NAB Cup game V Hawks this year. The commentators on Foxtel were confident he was going to play senior footy in 07 based on his form that night.

I personally do not think that he has done enough at sandringham to suggest that he would make it at afl level....

My understanding is that only international players can be on the rookie list for 3 years, normal players have to be redrafted to get the extra year.

He will be given a chance under Bailey. If he cannot cut it he will be cut next season. He has the talent, just lacks in a few areas. If he develops he will be on the fringe for selection on the wing.
