THE RUMOUR FILE

Yes it is true

He will be delisted next week and is going to put himself in the PSD

Someone go and post this on BigFooty, seeing as it will be the only rumour that is posted there that turns out to be true

Oh, and tell them Yze_magic sent you

I'm assuming that West Coast has tried to trade Cousins and no club wanted him, then West Coast delists him.. If so, that doesn't make too much sense, as if one club is not willing to take a punt on a superstar, albeit a wayward one.

I will be amazed if Cousins goes into the PSD.

Amaze me YM, amaze me!

What is with the Dees history of stuffing around our ruck division? We really need to fix it! Here are the top 5 ruck stuff ups in the last 10 years.

5 - Getting rid of Stynes so white could be no. 1 forgetting the fact that a backup champion ruckman is quite handy.

4 - picking up paul johnson for a pick the ended up being Matt Rosa!

3 - Letting Jolly go to Sydney and become the half of the best ruck duo in the afl.

2 - Watching Simmo go to tigers and almost have an all Australian year. (For Craig ellis no less, who missed the first few games of the season for belting Nieta the year before!)

1 - Well there is no 1 yet, but with jamar trades looming and a very old and tired jeff white I feel like the no. 1 spot is about to be filled out. Can't wait to see what they do to keep the ruck curse going!

We haven't had a Nm 1 Ruckman since Strawbs O'Dwyer in the late 80s. Stynes and White are both Followers. We did get Dunn for Jolly but I would have preferred to trade White meself. Jolly and Simmo left because Daniher just did not believe in playing 2 rucks so they were only getting very modest game time. Johnson is very athletic and skilled for his height - needs to work on his overhead marking - shapes more as Q Lynch type forward than Ruck. Its hard to rate Rosa given he has played in an amazing midfield but he is certainly not a great kick. Even if we get Meeson for mine we still have to keep Jamar. As above Johnson is more forward than ruck so we do need at least 3 rucks on our list.

agree entirely, johnson is a forward. Great long kick, can be used around the ground at times. Dont forget he won the jj liston after playing only 11 games!

Breach of said contract?

Correct. If he has breached the contract in some way he could be de-listed

I would assume the Eagles would look to offload him in a trade next week but assuming they fail in that endeavour its not improbable that he could be de-listed. It was stated this week that Chris Mainwaring and the Eagles had a major falling out at some stage this year and not doubt Ben Cousins would have been invlved in that is some way considering their friendship.

They could end up with 3 top 20 picks in this years draft and might be looking to start fresh while their 4 main KPPs are still quite young (Glass, Cox, Hunter, Hansen) in an attempt to have a crack at a flag in 2-4 years.

On top of that Ben has been one headache after another for the last 24 months. One would think the saints may look to land him to re-create the old Gardiner-Cousins show. What a ticking time bomb that could be

As if Ben Cousins will get delisted.

Yze_Magic - I've been a member on this site a little over 24 hours and counted at least a dozen rubbish posts by you. Your ability to post dribble is astounding.

Please lift your game.

there is a reason why yze_magic was recently voted the most entertaining poster on this site. you're right you have only been around 24 hours. learn a bit about the posters before you criticise them.

he has a beautiful left foot kick doesnt he? follows through nicely, drops the ball well...

I'm not supposed to say this..but I will. Yze magic. You are the biggest sh$@*(@&t talker I have ever heard.

All last year, you blabbering about how melbourne will win the grand final after losing 8 straight and then that whole judd speech and now this about cousins.

You are clueless matey.

CLUELESS I SAY !!

At least Yze Magic has something interesting to say and you get a bit of a laugh out of him, and you know 75% of the time he's taking the [censored].

Sorry are you his boyfriend? I think he's old enough to defend himself. There's a fine line between taking the [censored] and making a dik of yourself, which Yze_Magic repeatedly crosses.

Anyway lets move on. Yze_Magic think long and hard about your next post. It will be judged on validity, humour and insightfulness. Try and repay the faith shown in you by Powelly.

Pull your head in, Yze_Magic is a very funny and passionate poster on this site, and you've been here 2 days. If it was all serious on this site we all wouldn't come here as often.

I've got a feeling that this poster has been around a lot longer...

Just so you know, he ignores crtiticism.

Take it with the proverbial grain.

Lighten up mate no point in abusing someone especially when u haven't been around here for even a week maybe u should read other peoples posts and u'll find they have alot of speculation and possible trade rumours so yze magic is doing nothing wrong ur just being an idoit

Maybe u should post something worthwhile on here.

I've got a feeling that this poster has been around a lot longer...

The thought had entered my mind.

Paul Haselby may be entering the PSD, he was the next big thing a few years ago? Might be worth a look?

Sam Power has asked to be traded...

Mitch Hahn & Jordan McMahon still havent signed a new contract... leaving it late arent they...

One of Mark Blake or Steven King maybe on the move too...

All interesting...

Whats haselby's pace like?

It can't be as bad as people make it out to be. He represented Fremantle in the Grand Final sprint

Didn't represent them very well. He is a ball magnet though.

YZE_MAGIC, didn't you bag someone on this very thread I believe for posting garbage? Quite hypocritical of you I say. Cousins will not go in PSD. Where did you get this information????????

If Hasleby was around PSD pick 3. Id be [censored] if we didn't take him

From Wikipedia:

Whilst not the quickest player, he is noted for his quick hands and strong marking ability for a player of his size.

since the beginning of the 2002 season, Hasleby has not missed a game, despite suffering at times from a hernia-like injury during the 2005 season [2]. In seasons 2003 and 2004 he was ranked in the top 10 in the league in total disposals (kicks plus handballs).

Well well listen to the demon faithful object.

How long I've been here is irrelevant. Each post should be judged on its own merits. I didn't realise there was a hierarchy among fools.

Unlike you cretins I'm not here to make friends, or start rumours.

Cousin to be delisted - Yze_magic heard that one from his mum, who overheard it on the train yesterday. Don't believe everything you here mate.

Well i suppose it depends on the $$$ that he puts on himself. That's why Freo are reluctant to give him a new contract.

He reminds me of Bruce, gets plenty of it but doesn't hurt teams as much as he should, ain't that fast, kicking ain't his best attribute. Would we need another one of these types???

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

Saturday’s election night game in Perth between the West Coast Eagles and Melbourne represents 18th vs 15th which makes it a tough decision as to which party to favour. The Eagles have yet to break the ice under their new coach in Andrew McQualter who is the second understudy in a row to confront Demon Coach Simon Goodwin who was also winless until a fortnight ago. On that basis, many punters might be considering to go with the donkey vote but I’ve been assigned with the task of helping readers to come to a considered opinion on this matter of vital importance across the nation. It was almost a year ago that I wrote a preview here of the Demons’ away game against the Eagles (under the name William from Waalitj because it was Indigenous Round).  I issued a warning that it was a danger game, based on my local knowledge that the home team were no longer easybeats and that they possessed a wunderkind generational player in Harley Reid who was capable of producing stellar performances playing among men a decade and more older than he.  At the time, the Eagles already had two wins off the back of a couple of the young man’s masterclasses and they had recently given the Bombers a scare straight after their Anzac Day blockbuster draw against the then reigning premiers.

  • NON-MFC: Round 08

Round 08 of the 2025 AFL Season kicks off on Thursday with a must-win game for the Bombers to stay in touch with the top eight, while the struggling Roos seek a morale-boosting upset. Friday sees the Saints desperate for a win as well if they are to stay in finals contention and their opponents the Dockers will be eager to crack in to the Top 8 with a win on the road. Saturday kicks off with a pivotal clash for both sides asthe Bulldogs look to solidify their top-eight spot, while Port seeks to shake their pretender tag. Then the Crows will be looking to steady their topsy turvy season against a resurgent Blues looking to make it 4 wins on the trot. On Election Night a Blockbuster will see the ladder-leading Pies take on the Cats, who are keen to bounce back after a narrow loss. On Sunday the Sydney Derby promises fireworks as the Giants aim to cement their top-eight status, while the Swans fight to keep their season alive. The Hawks, celebrating their centenary, will be looking to easily account for the Tigers who are desperate to halt their slide. The Round concludes on Sunday Night with a top end of the table QClash with significant ladder implications; both Queensland teams are in scintillating form. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
