Melbourne FC - Didn't look injured!

i don't know what it was, but we seemed to move easier, tackle harder and ran more freely. robbo seemed to move as crisply as ever, davey seemed to have regained toe, pickett showed he still has something to offer. didn't seem like the same melbourne team of the previous 4 weeks

Not wanting to detract too much from the win, but we were playing a team devoid of any confidence. Other than a lucky draw the previous week, they had been getting smashed themselves. If Freo are still rolling when we meet them over there rnd 21, that is when i want to see the Demons stand up and show a bit of ticker, and not just fold in the first quarter like we have done too many times on the road over the last few seasons. Only then will i feel like we are turning the corner.

also it did not look like the melbourne that has played for a majority of the 2007 season. It was like the team of the 2006 season which made us proud

Brown - desperation was contagious

Carroll - little to do

Ferguson - courageous but limited

Bell - exciting but loose

Wheatley - handled tough tasks

Bode - little to excite

Moloney - had no impact

Mcdonald - useful as always

Johnstone - hasn't lost magic

Pickett - aggression set tone

Davey - loved the freedom

Green - wonderful all night

Dunn - had limited impact

Robertson - license to roam

Neitz - struggling to survive

Jamar - still just plodded

White - had little opposition

Jones - fantastic first half

Sylvia - some individual cameos

Frawley - was well beaten

Newton - no second efforts

Holland - who'd have thought ?

What newspaper did you watch the game in?

What a waste of 88 words.

Our team played with confidence. The first bump by Bell on Aker was inspirational. Sometimes it works. I don't know what it is either but I'll take it.

JoeBoy - keep it up. If nothing it divides opinion and creates debate. FYI - Bell was magnificent and tight.

Well said! I think several players may have extended their careers over the last few weeks as well. Dutchyand Brown have been very good for us and must be retained.

Hey , sorry to give you such an incorrect analysis , but I'd really love to read your 3 words , because I hear you have such a brilliant football mind .

Please feel free to share your wisdom here .

Robbo was lucky he reckless foray into the centre did not land him a suspension. If his hip and shoulder had've connect with the Bulldog's player head it could have been sickening all round.

I agree with you. Dutchy and Browny receive so little credit for the way they played. Its mystifying how people lauded so so players like Pickett and Ferguson.

Dutchy should get another year.

I think you will find Doggy will retire at year end.

That statement alone should be the trigger for asking serious questions about some of the commitment and questionable future of some players on our list.

I'm only asking for you to reveal the quality of your undoubtedly 'brilliant football mind ' for all the world to appreciate .

Don't make such flippant put downs without having the guts to give us all just a glimpse of how insightful you really are and how markedly different your opinions are to mine - but restrict yourself to 3 words .

I'm sorry if you took offence at my original post Joeboy. But if you are going to be offended with every poster who didn't agree with your gonna be typing for a long time. Lighten up. I thought there were other posters who were more critical of your analisys than me by the way. But I suppose you just decided to have a go at me. I look forward to reading your report next week. I love a good laugh. Oh by the way, i've put in the ones I didn't agree with. Enjoy!

Bell: Keeps on improving

Bode: Good solid start

Dunn: Found his position

Neitz: Sacrificed own game

Frawley: Injured too early

Newton: Great early tackle

Sylvia: Wasting natural ability

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
