And he immediately put his hand to his head just to leave no doubt

I donโ€™t even think he clipped him at all. Looks like just a nudge in the side. But I might be half blind

All i can say it that for every visitor I come across around 8/10 support it and seem to come back.

Iโ€™m guessing none of those 8/10 fans had to borrow money for jacked-up airfare just to see their team play live. And Iโ€™m also guessing none of those 8/10 fans have to same-day FIFO because they canโ€™t afford accommodation. Iโ€™m sure they donโ€™t have to bring food from home, either.

every time the ball goes inside 50 there's a score

Nah your eyesight is fine. I reckon he at most lightly grazed his head.

I always love seeing this [censored] fanbase meltdown. The Jumper Punch and Blue Abroad would be some viewing in 2 hours time. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

hopefully a 50+ Adelaide win. 31 years. And countingโ€ฆ

carlton doing this disappearing act this quarter

I say argue against all those things! I agree with all of it.

The reality of Australia is that realistically only Melbourne is within driving distance to Adelaide, and the problem with that is that on any given week thereโ€™s at least 5 games of footy in Melbourne. Of those Iโ€™d estimate less than 2% of the crowd at those games arenโ€™t fans of either team. Victorians have a lot of footy available to them every week - so the concept of gathering to see a lot of footy is made redundant by geography.

I think itโ€™s great for SA, but I think itโ€™s a dud for 95% of footy fans, and I think the AFL is asking a lot of its core supporters in the current economic climate. Itโ€™s very nice that self funded retirees can afford to travel around the country at will, but itโ€™s pretty ignorant of the financial reality of a lot of the people who make footy what it is.

I genuinely hope you have a great weekend. My criticism is never of the fans, or the massive contribution SA has made to footy. I just think the AFL hasnโ€™t read the room on it, and the average fan can smell the sales job being done on them. ๐Ÿ‘

i think it'd be FAB to be there

but it's quite clearly an invention to get a free pay day from a govt; better that it's sa than nsw as at least they have the infrastructure and passionate footy fans to support it and appreciate it

i mean, sure, why not - easy money, and a great experience for those who live in sa / can afford to be there / work in the industry

To be fair there were a few families too enjoying the school holidays but I get your point.

But I'm not sure you can blame SA for the cost of tourism when tens of thousands travel to Victoria each year or football (and other events).

Another great back half defensive effort from Nibbler, still one of the hardest working small forwards. (Right behind chin of course ;)

What a dart from Tex. Best forward entry I reckon youโ€™ll see.

i can't believe how good walker still is

he's about to be 36!

not many key forwards are still performing at his level at that age

14 to 6 frees in favor of the local team.

It's about how far you are away from being total tools you maggots.

Right? Both his feet are phenomenal. Kicks bullets.

God would I love if we had someone like him, he just competes, heโ€™s really a beast.

Kicking to the pocket ...I reckon you will see a lot better than that.

For those in SA, I'd really recommend getting along to gather sounds tomorrow. Bad//Dreems are headlining and it's their final run of shows before taking an indefinite hiatus.

Great Australian rock and roll band.

Bruh.. did ya see it? He kicked it exactly into the space where Thilthorpe should have gone before he even hit a lead. I thought it was brilliant.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFLโ€™s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.ย
