Onley named in a back pocket is interesting. Has good movement and size but his disposal needs.. development.

How bad is it Nigh?

To be fair, I’m relying on highlights packages from underage levels, but even what features as highlights has a lot of missed targets (mainly falling short on targets 40m+)

Could be a baptism of fire down back where turnovers become instant scores, but his lateral movement should buy him some time against opponents his height.

When Blake Howes played back pocket under Goodwin he was often maligned I think largely because he took the easiest option which rarely improved our attacking position. But I think Onley could likewise benefit from some time gaining confidence playing a similar role. At Casey he will have the likes of Bonner (and for the time being Moniz Wakefield) helping as an easier bail out when the option down field is beyond his reach.

Hopefully AMW Cross and Kentfield do well and are taken off at half time to be fresh for Anzac eve

Not helpful to Casey unfortunately but 5 day breaks are brutal.

Watch on Luke Beecken for Lions.

Dees need to get a contract in his bag. Just stars at VFL level each week but not given a run at AFL level. He’d be perfect for the Dees. Good skills. Mature decision maker. Pace at the level.

great to get a look at Ah-Mu. He brushed aside other defenders in the intra game a few weeks ago, it will be interesting to see how he goes against outside opposition.

Any TV coverage for this one or is it just the stream in the AFL site?

Ah-Mu is a big lad.

Lovely chain of handballs and run involving Ricky Mentha there.

Casey winning a lot of inside 50's in the last few minutes with nothing to show for it.

Meanwhile, Brisbane are almost scoring upon every entry.

Mentha showed a lot of promise as a half back in that quarter.

Midfield class and depth is non existent so far today.

Kalani having a rough initiation in the tick. Sharing duties with Kentfield who has actually won more hit outs so far.

any chance the commentators could call Matthews by his name instead of calling him Marshall?

Maybe they just needed a battery.

We're on the board!

Kentfield goals in the opening 15 seconds after the second quarter after a great centre clearance.

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG after a dismal performance in Gather Round to face the reigning dual Premiers Brisbane. What do expect to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
