Loads of empty Suns' seats.

AFL give them everything but they still can't draw a crowd.

Crowds are irrelevant at the end of the day

Itโ€™s about broadcast rights; 4 teams in NSW and qld are integral to that

ย

Suns look good buts Cats gave up on the flight up. Also easing into the year.

Calling for Trac as an AA in the first half of the 0th round of the season is a bit premature.

As bored as I was by last nightโ€™s game. Great start to Season 2026, AFL!

Iโ€™m just annoyed that our scoring system doesnโ€™t allow for both sides to lose.

Something for Swan to work on for next year.

I heard this and Iโ€™m definitely not a fan of it.

Get fkdโ€ฆ thatโ€™s the pits.

Footy is becoming a sport for people with ADHD, as fast paced as possible, music in between.

Theyโ€™ll add fireworks and fire in a few years like Big Bash league has, and use it after every goal.

Made me smile when I saw that Buckley was Geelongโ€™s new defensive coach as the Suns piled on the goals in the opening quarter

Sooooo glad we didnโ€™t pick him up as our head coach.

Soโ€ฆ we agree on this. I wasnโ€™t sure since usually when someone agrees with me they donโ€™t start their post with telling me to get fkd ๐Ÿ˜

Seeing the video of the Geelong box, with both him and Chris Scott looking all sulky is like 2 for the price of one!!

Sorry. I was saying that in reference to the original poster saying we are doing that rubbish, and that was my reaction to it, not you! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I guess itโ€™s never clear via message!

This game might become interesting if the lead gets close to 100 points.

If the lead gets beyond 186 points Iโ€™ll get Damian Hardwickโ€™s face tattooed on my forehead.

So trac on kings birthday last year could not hit a handball target in the dying stages but suddenly can kick 3 goals tonight.

This Geelong team just looks so different, I know danger & cameron are missing but gee they look slow.

Anyway game over & I've switched off

You didnโ€™t specify who would tattoo you, can I do it?

For reference, my daughter has better drawing skill than me.

Judas in a side that has taken 15 years to become good. The Man City of Aussie Rules. Just like how City were absolutely nothing as a club pre 2008, pre Arab oil money, the amount of aid and emergency help Gold Coast received from AFL handouts is nothing short of incompetence.

I still donโ€™t rate Man City as a club and I sure as hell do not rate Gold Coast either. If the AFL were the football/soccer model, Gold Coast would have died 5 years into their existence.

3 votes, C Petracca. Superstar. What a joy he is to watch. Sucks itโ€™s not in red and blue anymore.

Still for the best to move him on, but jeez it sucks.

He's rubbing our nose in it

Trac is playing at his absolute peak again. Absolute gun. Well done him, but very difficult to watch now. And all of a sudden he can kick (or is that a reflection on the lack of pressure from the Cats?) Getting a bit lippy too.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sundayโ€™s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourneโ€™s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

After a stunning victory over the Saints in the first round of the Season the Demons head over to Perth to take on the Dockers who choked in their first match against the Cats. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven Kingโ€™s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
