Just on a possible Rising Star nomination for Jones, is he even eligible? He won a nomination last year against the Kangaroos, so does that cancel him out?

He's eligable.

It's a disgrace if he doesn't get a nomination before the end of the season.

It means [censored], as he won't win the award, but some recognition for his great work in a terrible team, would be nice!

I love Jones as a young player, and yes, we're having a pathetic year, but he won't win it and nor does he deserve to.

Spare me the drivel about hard ball contests, in and under efforts, showing up more experienced teammates, etc, etc. I know all of that, but the fact remains that in this early stage of his career he doesn't get enough footy and nor does he use it well enough.

I'm wrapt with his progress, but he's no B&F winner.

I've looked everywhere but can't find them.

I don't necessarily disagree with what you're saying, but if winning our B&F is about getting a lot of the ball, than Ward and Nathan Brown would be killing it (as well as killing me with their disposal <_< )

It has happened several times. Darwin Sportsbet has wound him in to $17 despite being the only player of the Top 8 yet to be nominated. He's on the 4th line of betting.

Correction. For those Rising Stars who have played thirteen or more he's only behind Pendlebury and Selwood. He is 7th of all who have qualified to be listed on the Footywire/Pro-stats board. The 3 game qualification is bound to throw up a few spurious entries.

It doesn't matter that he won't win, he deserves to be nominated. I find it annoying that the panel doesn't have the wherewithal to look past disposal stats and goal tallies.

Very well. From a Truscott vantage point we're saying Jones has had less ball than JMc, Bate, Bruce, White, Ward and Brown. He's worked harder than all except McDonald and probably used the ball better. He's well in it for mine.
