Another interstate match, I probably won’t make it. Arden St would have been very convenient.

The club should bury food caches with flags at regular intervals for anyone looking to make the journey out there.

Thanks for the report. I watch a lot of Essendon as the wife barracks for them and LuLu did not look out of place at AFL level in their injury ravaged side last year.

Both of us were very surprised they chose to delist him and recontract some of their in-season additions. I reckon he lands back on a list ours or other at some point.

Zero Hanger says that he's contracted with Casey for this year.

How has Steele going?

He seems to be integrating well. He's hard to spot because he's in the thick of things and he isn't flashy.

watched the highlights...where tf is half the team?

No Gawn Langford, XL, Steele, Kozzy, Latrelle - i know Mihochek, Melksham, Viney, Bowey are all injured or on modified programs..

Langford, XL & Kozzy played as did Latrelle

Big shoutout to picket fence for his great report and rapport with Wednesday and all posters and special comments it’s pleasing to see that our new recruits and youngsters are really stepping up to fill the void left by our two former champions, a lot to like about this group.

Both Picketts were not at training yesterday, no sign of XL either, so not sure where you’re getting this from

Xavier Taylor’s ability to attack from defence is reminiscent of Matthew Scarlett in his prime. King must be salivating.

Correct all 3 absent although I think XL was in rehab in the covered facility!

Spoke with a mate of Scarlo yesterday - said he's rapt to be working with Kingy. BTW Matt is coaching one of Torquay's U16 sides where his older son plays. Henry 15 and 193cm goes OK.

Ai says that’s a 99.9% probability Roger. Signed for Casey this season as is Tairon Ah-Mu. So the front row and full back positions are covered.

I’ll happily take Enid! She’s cool. I thought I’d be cast as Grandmama, but you know better than that. Amirite, Fence? 😉

PS: Harves wasn’t wearing #19 because that’s Reggie’s number now. Harvey is #4. Get with the program, bruh.

PPS: “Reggie” is Xavier Taylor

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
