Maxy has a broken pinky finger, sustained during training on Monday.

Sharpie is looking at 8 - 10 weeks on the sidelines. He tore his hammy just after Xmas.

Wow… Sharp wasn’t moving like a guy that will be out for another 2 months+ 🤷‍♂️

Yep thought he was running around the boundary well!

CJ running laps with Melky. I asked on Monday if he was back to full training. Got a smart [censored] reply. Seems to still be being managed. Anyone actually have a clear answer on his fitness

Just passing on what he told me.

Who was the reply from? Sounds like a bit of poor form.

Asked him about that. He will be playing

I wish that wasn't the case.

Watched training for an hour this morning… I’m now finding this stage of preparation slightly boring! I’m ready for real competition, not ‘dancing with your sister’ stuff! No offence to sisters intended, nor to players or coaches.

It was a busy hour. Three competitive activities going on at the same time, groups of players rotated through these, so I propped myself up on the fence and waited for them to come to me!

Observations;

Windsor, Kossie, Culley and Salem were standouts for me.

Windsor has developed his tackling to compliment his pace.

Good to see May and Lever looking fit.

Latrelle and Ricky Mentha in everything.

The emphasis in everything they do is on quick ball movement. The intensity is up. Disposals do not always hit the target, but the movement is lightning fast. The ‘defenders’ are always outnumbered. I look forward to seeing our players perform with real pressure from a competitive opposition.

Viney ran and ran and ran at a good clip throughout.

Agree with others that Sharp didn’t look two months away from rejoining regular training.

I thought Kentfield and Jefferson looked good in the competitive drills.

Lindsay looks stronger in the legs and hips.

Thanks Wayne,

Any views on our ruck back up?

Does Max H look like a genuine back up for Max G

I really disagree, I'm very keen for State of Origin to return and I'm glad we have players in it, it'll be a good experience for them and I like to think it as extra training for them anyway.

Gawny said it best, the players that play in it won't play in the other pre season match for their club, so the risk for injury is essentially the same

Plus players get injured in weird circumstances that have nothing to do with state of Origin: Hogan jamming his fingers in a door, Rampe tripping over a chain fence, Mills wrestling with his mates etc

Anyway sorry to stray from the thread title, just getting a little sick of the negativity around SOO around here

TC was there for a bit today but didn’t train. He’s in a neck-brace as a result of a knock to his head last week at Casey which resulted in neck pain. There’s no serious damage to his neck, the neck-brace is precautionary.
