I would just like to congratulate Robbo on this milestone. I know people want him traded but he has done well for a bloke who was delisted and came back onto the list. I love his screamers he takes and the goals he kicks that only he can.

Robbo loves the melbourne footy club and you can tell by the way he speaks so passionately about it, also he is a decent guy. So congrats Robbo and hope there are many more to come.

I was going to start this thread later on in the week, but I guess I've been beaten to it.

A big congratulations to Robbo, my all time favourite Demon.

With Robbo, you know that no matter how badly the team plays, he'll always try to do something special and pull off the impossible. From a pure entertainment perspective, there is no-one better.

But it is the side of Robbo that not everyone knows that makes him the great player that he is. I've met quite a large number of Melbourne players over the years, and Robbo has, without a doubt, been the most passionate and dedicated representative of the MFC I've met.

He loves the club, he bleeds for the jumper and he is proud to be a part of Melbourne.

He might not always play well, and he might come across as selfish on the field, however he is anything but. He says and acts how he feels, a characteristic that is slowly dying in our game. And as he approaches the end of his career, I hope that he continues to be regarded as the heart and soul of this club and performs accordingly. He deserves to be part of a successful team, and he will always be a major contributor to this club, both on and off the field.

Congratulations on 200 wonderful, entertaining games. May there be plenty more! :)

Robbo is the type of player that in years to come, you will look back and appreciate what a star he was.

The thing I love about Robbo and always will are his screamers and to think it all started from a mark he took on "Almost Footy Legends" seen on The Footy Show.

Robbo has been my favorite player since the day he kicked 4 and dominated the half-forwardline on Glen Jakovich at Subiaco, in what was a huge season turning performance and subsequent win, way waaay back in 98 as a fresh-faced youngster.

I also remember keeping a close eye on him in the ressies that year and thinking 'this kid is gonna be a star!'.

I've watched him grow as a player and also as a league personality, been there thru the high and lows, and have appreciated every minute of heart and dedication he has put in.

I've also spoken to the bloke plenty of times, and each time i'm more and more impressed by his passion and love for the club we all hold so dearly in our hearts, the Melbourne Football Club. He has been as good a clubman and ambassador as anybody has in my time following the Dee's, the captain included. He may not be the most consistent player going around, but those are the cards youre dealt when you are a 185cm (makeshift) KP player. His durability and ability to play carrying an injury has always been admirable, and we all know what he's capable of when fully fit (see 2005 season).

Congrats on a fantastic journey and a great 200 games... may there be many more goals and speccies, a 100% injury-free run, and hopefully successes for the man (and team) that deserves much more for 2008 and beyond.

Deano.....spot on !!!!!!!

We won't truly appreciate him until he is gone..........very few players at any club can take hangers as regularly as Robbo.....we have been spoilt for highlights having Robbo at the MFC!

He should be given the same nickname as Dominique Wilkins from the NBA........"The Human Highlight Film!"

Well done on 200 games Robbo.......you are a true MFC champion !!!!!!!!!!

the thing i will remember most about robbos career is his ability to play above his height. for a little fella he has been asked to do some big jobs at CHF, FF and as our only 'tall' forward at times. while he doesnt always pull it off he always tries his hardest. 363 goals in 199 games. imagine if he had the benefit of playing as a flanker for his whole career on the number 2 or 3 defender? he will be remembered as the heart and soul fo the club at times. well done robbo on your 200.

A demon through and through, passionate to enth degree. It's been an absolute pleasure to watch Robbo these past 199 games, so good luck to him for his 200th.

I love him as it has been said, because of his passion for the club.

I remember this year against the Kangas, 1st quarter we were playing like crap, one of our few inside 50s went to Robbo who went back (This was his first game back since Round 2) and slotted it and grabbed the jumper and tried to spur on a few of his teammates.

Along with Neita and Junior, he's the guy I want us to win a flag for the most.

Congratulations to Robbo on achieving his 200th game, it is truly a wonderful milestone.......

He has been a loyal, hard working and regularly spectacular member of the Melbourne team.

Not to mention he has been one of the most memorable of Demons we have seen in recent years!!!

And hopefully he will have a fantastic game this afternoon to mark the occasion in style :D !!!

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
