Good that they diagnosed Bowey's injury early.

It also means that he likely won't be having a career best year if he's missing some or most of pre season.

Just look at McVee as an example. Missed about 8 weeks and ended up having an atrocious year.

I think his mind may have been elsewhere as well.

We’re actually not.

According to the medical staff we’re not. Only Bowser and Vines are considered “long-term.” The worry and stress we experience on here is largely unwarranted. It’s a whole different outlook from the staff.

I presume its Rhett Mclennan, Riley Bonnar or Dylan Roberton

None of those three...see Ghosty's suggestion above. Follicly challenged chap.

Where is the niggle? Hammy, Knee, Groin, elsewhere?

You need to earn your paycheck!!!!

Max was running unimpeded - probably just wanted him to avoid the drills today....

if McVee is the example, then the coaching staff just have to bite the bullet and give him a mini pre-season and hold him back from AFL games. It doesnt do anybody any good being rushed back. Hopefully that mentality has left the building in Goody's suitcase.

Here's my take on the injury front which I shared at training today ...

We're in development mode with a new coach and a young list (yes I know we are 2nd oldest by average but that's skewed by a handfull of veterans). We're not in contention and I expect a bottom 6 finish.

We need to cycle through the list and find out who's going to make it and where, and who's not.

Of the 44 listed players there's less than a handful that, if fit, wouldn't be ready to play AFL - White, Berry (needs to get his running up to AFL standard), maybe Onley - the rest look ready to go including Mentha, Kentfield, Taylor, LSP and Matthews. We need to find out what they've got. Some injuries open up opportunities.

From the vids on social media, JvR looking lean

Wonder if this potentially opens up a SPP spot for Boweys injury.

Mc Adam "serious rehab" is there any chance he can get himself fit??

McAdam was doing laps at a reasonable pace and looked unimpeded. Hopefully he can step up from there.

JVR looked very good at training. He moved quick and took few good marks in the match sim.

Looks like Oscar Allen.

He didn't look overly restricted. Just running the boundary though.

Looked fine.... one test after another... all in his stride. Seemed very comfortable.

Thank you. You have earned a free snag at the Demon Army sausage sizzle on Saturday which you can gift to me.

You know what they say… don’t annoy the person who’s about to make you something to eat. It never ends well.

He incurred the wrath of Kingy at one point. Expletives were used.. lol

Roo might want to have a bit of a think. Others breathing down his neck 😉

Roo was awesome in the match sim. Many of them were. Latrelle is a force to be reckoned with, shrugs off tacklers like they’re Auskick kids and I’m talking three attempts in quick succession to bring him down. We saw him do some amazing things today.

But after training Kingy and Roo walked back to AAMI together and Kingy had his hand on Roo’s back and was talking to him in a gentle tone.

Roo wants to pay attention.

In the one on one drill Kingy was running, a defender versed a forward... the drill was not ( apparently) deemed finished til either the ball was kicked for score, or defender kicked it back to ( couldn’t tell )

Roos 2nd ( 3rd all but non existent) efforts were , well, lax. He was let known in no uncertain terms 😉

Just sayin' what was in front of me .

Others seemed... umm... more keen.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
