PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 8th December 2025

How many weeks was Bowser in the rehab group before heโ€™s gone in for surgery?

Feels like at least 2, maybe even 3? Very frustrating that they couldnโ€™t pick up on this earlier.

I assumed he was injured at some point on the camp. The next week back he was in rehab on Monday and Wednesday running laps. On the Friday he turned up to training on crutches and in a moon boot. So from coming back from the camp until the crutches and moon boot it was two track sessions.

Felt longer than that but seems youโ€™re correct, thereโ€™s photos of him training on the Tuesday session on camp and then reports from the Thursday session were that he was in the rehab group and not looking comfortable

This is great! Itโ€™s from Fridayโ€™s session. And ima go ahead and claim credit for the soundtrack. I told Trent our videographer that itโ€™d be wonderful to not always have the generic electric guitar background music. I said (jokingly)โ€ฆ โ€œA classical piece would be nice.โ€ And here we are ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Whenever I hear that music (Fleur de Lisโ€ฆedit: Fรผr Elise), I feel like Iโ€™ve been put on hold!

They donโ€™t expect Bowser to be up by the beginning of the season but itโ€™s too early to tell so I guess theyโ€™re being conservative

Says 6 months, which basically takes us May/June

Just on the way home after going to my first training run for the 2026 season.

I hope you pulled up ok.

Does this qualify to open up a spot via the SSP or does a injury need to rule you out for the whole year.

According to the medics heโ€™s tracking well, level with whatโ€™s expected.

According to anyone with a brain heโ€™s recovering from a severed achilles, long injury recovery around the 12 month mark.

Heโ€™s getting some kms into the legs and looks in decent shape, so would anticipate fairly confidently heโ€™s on a managed program under the S&C.

And you think the poster you responded to doesnโ€™t unnecessarily pot our players.

That is a cruel injury indeed for Jake Bowey, the Lis Franc foot injury has ended a number of careers and seems to take a full year to overcome. Jack Trengrove was never the same after he sustained his. Good Luck Bowsa.๐Ÿฅฒ

I didnโ€™t even notice to whom I was responding. I simply repeated what Iโ€™d been told right at the end of the session and thatโ€™s that heโ€™s tracking as expected at this point in his recovery.

Return to Gosch's or Casey?

At this stage itโ€™s Goschโ€™s. Thatโ€™s according to the Property Manager and his right-hand man. But thatโ€™s not a certainty and they can expect to be notified of the venue right up until the week before they recommence.

Any links for the socially inept?

Socially inept could apply to most on here ,

And Iโ€™m agreeing with you itโ€™s fairly obvious whatโ€™s occurring with McCadam.

The poster is a [censored], needs to keep to his promise and leave.

Saw Kalani take a run and jump grab on the boundary and youโ€™d swear it was Jeff out there.

The injury was caused by a teammate treading heavily on his foot at the camp. They had him running laps at those two sessions because they didnโ€™t realise the extent of the injury. He complained of a sore foot which became more painful after those running laps sessions.

The doc told me Bowser had a torn ligament in his foot and was to be operated on this afternoon, and that heโ€™d be looking at three or so months recovery. I donโ€™t know how these things work, ie. could the surgeon have discovered something different while he was operating?

Don't like the sound of that at all. @Pennant St Dee

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demonsโ€™ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
