Unfortunately I don't make the rules Dub!

Had to laugh at the Giants socials page.

In the comments, someone suggested to give him the locker next to Clayton. Lol.

I laugh, but it's so likely those two will be very damaging for GWS together. If the Giants arn't pushing for top 4 and seriously contending next year, there is something very wrong. Watching them dismember Sydney in a half a quarter after being well behind bought back memories of the 2021 GF for me and showed what GWS can do. It makes me cry when I see Jesse and Toby Bedford line up for them and probably will with Clayton as well.

That is funny.

They are becoming the kings of the off field sledge.

Agreed. I think some of it is actually pretty rude and disrespectful to other clubs, when the GWS official club Web site is posting / trolling about players that are still contracted at competitors clubs, but when they take the mickey out of their own Re Stinger and St Kilda based on their poor form with Leek Aleer, then it's fair game.

Ouch!

Chris Cornell tribute act with a bunch of local artists at the Tote on Dec 6 for anyone interested.

These guys put on a great show and money raised goes to Beyond Blue 🙂

So am i right to believe we only have the one live selection in today's rookie draft and that will be Kalani White?

Apparently two. One for Kalani.

Keeping one for Sinemma or someone else, after preseason or mid season.

I'm surprised that Hibbins-Hargreaves didn't crack the top 50. Durability and injury is a concern but it didn't seem to phase many teams this year, some taking players in the first round who didn't play much this year.

Does the lack of VFL exposure play a part and being tested against the bigger bodies? I'm just trying to figure it out.

And that's Round Two and the rest of the rounds done and dusted ...

Very interesting article.

Am I reading it correctly? If Essendon took X Taylor then we would have taken Nairn and Pickett and left Farrow on the board. The melts would have been something else.

Interesting to see the genuine interest in Sumner-Pickett right around our pick 12.

Westcoast offered to trade 13 and a F2, Essendon were contemplating with one of their pics before us and North/GWS and Hawks would have taken.

That had to put any speculation we reached to bed

West Coast never had the pick after ours to offer.

Their offer was for us to slide back 7 spots for their future second (c. pick 25 next year).

Which on the face of it was never going to be anywhere near enough.

Yeah that's true, got mixed up between both our picks and what they actually became after the acadamy bids.

Interesting that he noted that Taylor was one of the big 5 and it sounds like we would have had him rated the same. Top 5 of available talent.

We have been quiet fortunate the way thing have worked out the past couple of drafts with Langford getting to our pick last year and Taylor this year.

I believe the club has had a little bit of a readjustment with the way they value WA players. Maybe not forever but at least in this rebuilding time.

I think Nairn has more upside than Farrow anyway so fine by me.

The melts would have been delicious. I would gotten drunk on the tears of the self-righteous and ignorant…

“Farrow was so much higher than Pickett in all the Phantoms!1!1!1”

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.
