AFLW: PF vs North Melbourne

The girls are playing with great belief. They believe.

Roos are playing with weight of expectations. If Roos coach canโ€™t remove that weight at 3/4 time, the Dees have this. If Roos coach brings their minds back, a ripping 4th quarter

The second last throw in landed 2 metres outside North's goal square.

We'll, that was a fantastic effort. We just needed to convert one or two and we'd have them rattled.

I reckon North must be starting to [censored] themselves.

We just need to get a couple through.

Great lift across the ground. Oheir starting to get into it.

Taylor is having a brilliant game down back along with Gillard. How was that pack spoil by her 2 on 1.

Zanker and Hanks and Heath have lifted too.

We can do this

ย

Kick a goal then flood the backline. It can be done.

Iโ€™m loving all our off the ball hits

get in their faces!

Gillard spoil was legendary!

Man this is tense

Great game and great atmosphere here

ย

I havenโ€™t been this invested in a football match in a long time

can barely watch

Can we drag Goldy FFS?!?

Itโ€™s been coming

Huge effort needed now

Itโ€™ll take a Herculean effort from here. North are looking like winners

too late

she basically tackled her own team mate. then took on the tackler for the 100th time and got caught again.

goal

a moment of defensive panic and overdoing it

Well, at least now we know we must attack and attack again

ย

We have a few players who while you canโ€™t doubt their effort, they are horrible decision makers

After 7 straight behinds

North kick 2 goals

Game Over

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
