HE IS CATEGORICALLY NOT GOING TO NOT MEET WITH US

Finally some trade goss involving us that's exciting!

Bit over the doom and gloom Dees news of the last few off seasons.

Trade period is our Superbowl.

Sure we always lose, but we are always involved.

Steven King really seems to be leaning on Nathan Jones for these meetings. Great to see

Nathan Jones I will never question your coaching credentials again if you pull this off

Glad you’re speaking for yourself

That pic looks like they are certainly finalising some sort of deal

Issue is there's so many 'if's'. If they're pitching to both Humphrey and Flanders full midfield roles at the Dees thats only with the condition that one or both Trac and Clayton are gone.

The other clubs have the clarity to say 'if you want to come here, this is the role we have for you'

We on the other hand are currently pitching 'if you want to come here, depending on other player movements, there may be a full time midfield role for you'.

I feel the lack of uncertainty is going to hurt us big time.

Haha I'm on board with this

It's correct he didn't meet with the Dees...

As he was out on a stroll he ran into King and Jones also on a stroll and funnily enough walking in the same direction....

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. The reporting on the Clarry situation was that if he stayed, he would no longer be in the midfield. And I’m guessing if still around Trac would play forward most of the time.

But the broader reality is they’re both going to leave and we’re simply trying to keep leverage by saying we’d keep them around. And I’m sure that’s being communicated to players we hope to bring in and their managers.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
