If itโ€™s just picks coming back out way, I see no need to give them one back.

maybe we throw one back their way if they include BH.

Much like Guerra's comments soon after the King appointment, where he said something along the lines of "Petracca and Oliver were in King's best 25", this is a deliberately ambiguous answer.

It would mean a lot to me.

โ€ฆ made their position clear โ€œpubliclyโ€.

Heโ€™s right, GC are presenting a position, heโ€™s in no place to undermine that

Has there been a truce between parties to negotiate in private without the ambulance chasing, rubbish bin hiding scum bags (Hi Tom) commentating on it 4 x per day through radio and social media......

I've probably said this 8 times before but if youโ€™re going to let Trac leave, you need to get something back that steers you to the next premiership

if GC want a premiership theyโ€™ll give Humphrey for Petracca

If they donโ€™t want to do that then welcome Trac back.

Play hardball - we finally have a chance to be the aggressor and not give in to players wanting to break contracts,

Donโ€™t be pushovers now

100% agreeโ€ฆ

Gold Coast are stacked with players. And have more high end Academy players coming.

Dees want a player and need a playerโ€ฆ They can keep there draft picks.

Mac Andrew should have been at the Deesโ€ฆ AFL rifled us. Rigged.

All IN on Humphrey now

Lamb chose his words carefully when he said the Dees 'respect' what Gold Coast have said 'publicly'. I think there may be an agreement to manage this as privately as possible. It then allows both clubs to spin the narrative to shine positively on them, as the negotiations progress.

I think deep down we all know this is probably the outcome that will happen.

Six top 15 draft picks in 3 years is a solid foundation in this now obvious re-build.

A pity one of those six picks looks really shaky at the moment.

that mooted 7 and 8 for trac and 24 basically turns petracca and judd into 2x untested 18yo kids. absolutely disgusting deal.

Under no circumstances do we do a deal for 7 and 8.

Why would we accept that when tracc unlocks humphrey.

Hope the deebrief have bad mail.

And thatโ€™s without considering that this draft is demonstrably shallower than the last two seasons, and far more compromised.

Getting fleeced.

You're 100% right. When it comes to trading in this sport, people tend to forget exactly what the activity of trading objects is all about: if you want to acquire something you see as extremely valuable, you have to hand over something you see as extremely valuable.

If by COB tomorrow thereโ€™s no Humphrey trade request I reckon you can just about put a pin in this. Until then you can only hope.

Doesn't trade week have until next Wednesday?

I don't expect a resolution until the last day.

We need Humphrey to get things moving

It will still take time to go from "not trading him" to "he came to us with compassionate reasons to release him from his contract to go home"

And we both have other deals to get done

Things need to move significantly on his and Gold Coast's side this weekend to get this done

From our end Humphrey unlocks the deal

Yes, but obviously no trade action over the weekend. If, like demons forever suggests thereโ€™s a meeting between Humphrey and the club tomorrow, youโ€™d think that if there was a trade request coming, itโ€™d come pretty shortly after. Maybe COB tomorrow is a bit hasty, but end of weekend maximum. If weโ€™re heading into Monday with no word of him explicitly wanting to join us I just think thereโ€™s too many pieces that need to fall into place for the deal to get done, especially with Gold Coast being as resolute as they have hitherto been.

The Deebrief bros are just trying to stay relevant. Demonland is where the action is.

Is it time to consider what 7 & 8 will get us in a trade for another player / with another club?

No. It's Humphrey time and it's nowhere near deadline day. Cool ya jets, Rusty. Lamb is here for the slaughter/fair deal. Trac for Humphrey.

Call me on Tuesday night to discuss

We are a long way off and there are many levers left to pull

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
