Geez heโ€™s a hypocrite

So itโ€™s fine for Trac to shop himself to you but not for Humphrey to shop himself to us/other clubs?

He didn't really have an issue, he conceded it was the current landscape of player movement BUT he said if the player has the right to do that, then the Club has the right to hold the contract and that should be respected.

Ironic.

Giving a tour to a NS medalist, premiership player who has four to go on a contract, then to say โ€œguys think the grass is greenerโ€ and can get people out of contract.

They will remain average without Trac.

They might still not be gee-wizz brilliant WITH him ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sounds like Gold Coast want to eat their cake, while also enjoying Petraccaโ€™s pasta

Time to blow [censored] up Bailey. Start talking about why you need to get back home. Make CG look insensitive and cruel and force their hand

7 more days of this. There's no GiF that combines all the emotions and thoughts that will roll through my head and this thread in that time. It's triple, maybe even quadruple GiF time and I simply must check out and do some work today. For those that might try to roll out a multiple GiF post be very careful, there's a lot of very edgy people on here atm.

How did I do?

Trust the process.

MFC now need to walk away from the table and refuse to engage in any talks until Bailey Humphrey is included. Make it clear no other offer gets this done

Humphrey wants this, Melbourne want this, Trac wants this, they need to either come to the party or walk away totally

Question remains now..

Who blinks first?

ย

Itโ€™s really incumbent on Bailey and his management to push for a trade now

As much as I donโ€™t like it GC wonโ€™t budge unless a formal request comes through

I still believe if push came to shove GC would trade him as part of the Trac deal, but unfortunately without Humphrey driving it GC holds all the leverage

Na na.

Three 3rd picks thanks - Tim Lamb 2025.

There's no comparison between Humphrey and Petracca.

Gold Coast's position is that they won't trade Humphrey and clearly Melbourne's position is that it will trade Petracca, even if they're reluctant.

Nothing Cameron has said is at odds with that situation. The only question is will they blink on Humphrey. We'll see.

They've committed to Trac, so they will. It's only a matter of time.

Pretty simple, nothing to lose if we keep Trac, they are the ones getting excited about getting him so they can't have their cake and eat it too. Arrogant buggers aren't they

I agree on the blinking. If Melbourne shows any little glimmer that they're uneasy about Petracca nominating GC but staying at the Demons in 2026 it'll never happen. If public statements mean anything, Lamb should reiterate the line from the other day along the lines of Petracca staying being the logical state of affairs unless something extraordinary happens.

MFC needs to come out and say

"We love Bailey, We want bailey and if the Suns want Trac, then we get him or Trac will be showing up to Casey in Nov for Preseason. No trade will happen without Bailey being a part of it. Like Craig said, greener pastures and contracts also relates to Trac."

Agree. GCS, in their eyes, have the draft capital to get Petracca, whilst Petracca is our only means of acquiring Humphrey.

Until Humphrey nominates us as his preferred club, Cameron will be steadfast that he is not for trade.

A better tactic would be for Humphrey's manager to come out and say: "we understand that Bailey signed a contract, and when he signed it his family circumstances were different. We have told Gold Coast why Bailey needs to return home, and we hope they would do the right thing by the kid and let him get back home to family"

You have to flip the narrative, and make it seem like GC are stopping a kid from going home on compassionate grounds, DESPITE there being a good trade solution on the table that gets everyone what they want.

Lets see how this plays out

Theyโ€™ve committed to making a fair offer for Tracc, they have plenty of picks to do that.

The only way they trade Humphrey is if they think itโ€™s untenable not to and so far Humphrey doesnโ€™t have the leverage to really blow this up.

We can pretend but itโ€™s simply not true.

Thereโ€™s no incentive to do anything at the point in time

All the media noise is just that; noise

I think everyone is well aware that discussions outside the narrative are happening and it will play out before close of business next week

No they don't. They need one of their top 10 picks for academy bids.

I know we love to Eeyore, but let's live in the real world for a little bit.

They don't have plenty picks. What are you talking about, DS? If they traded both top 10 picks for Trac, they'd have to go into a point deficit and risk kids next year. They're not going to do that. They are going to posture, very likely up until the very last moment.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven Mayย

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
