Sadly I think there's little chance of him coming to MFC.

Especially if the Coach took him on a tour of Clyde Nth

In all seriousness, I'm hoping that we can land him as it's either that or we draft a top end pick youngster (who can play) and who we can develop

The fact that 'Barry' is entertaining a move is a positive as is our war chest that has suddenly appeared

May, Ollie & Trac leaving creates a $3.5Million hole in the salary cap so we're compelled to spend it up to 100% (?)

So there's a chance and money talks

With Flanders out I don't care if there is only a 10% chance of Humphrey we need to do everything possible.

So highly rated by Taylor at draft time, would love it if he occasionally got his first choice.

Tom Morris just said that if Melbourne ask for Humphrey in the Petracca deal then Gold Coast will walk away.

Reckons they would ask for 3 first round picks.

Trac staying in Melbourne then... ha ha :P

Have to pull out all the stops to get him to nominate us then, because there’s no way GC holds him if he wants out and we say it’s the only way to unlock the Trac deal

Thats what I’d say if I was GC. You’d be nuts to swap Humphrey for Petracca. I’d say Humphrey is the superior player right now. The only way it gets done is if Humphrey drives it and that’s unlikely and still no guarantee. We’d need to offer stupid money to get him out. Still I remain foolishly hopeful.

3 first round picks are not going to turn the heads of Guerra & King...Trac better get comfy at Casey.

I think he meant GC would ask for 3 first round picks for Humphrey.

Dees would take 3 first rounders for a 30yo Trac in a heartbeat.

This contradicts what Demons Forever had to say, which was if Humphrey nominates us, the deal is done.

No, as in GC would be asking for 3 first round draft picks for Humphrey as a starting point.

You had me at Tom Morris.... oh wait🤔

Well GC are the ones who need to turn our heads...stay firm and we keep Petracca and he gets to work in "his job" and no harm done.

Its gotta be better for us remember, not for Trac or GC. We must come out winners if they want us to trade our best generational player who we know will be professional and just come back to work if it falls through. Everyone forgets Trac is just "testing the waters" and seeing if he can broker the right deal.

If it ain't awesome we keep the guy, I just hope the Dees bosses stick to their guns.

PS. Tom Morris can eat a bag!

Not sure if Humphrey will nominate us if he knows GC are hell bent on keeping him. It leaves him in a bad position with GC/ his teammates if he asks to leave and his wish is not granted.

I wonder how much of this is GC posturing as we want Humphrey + a pick, and whether in the end we will agree on a straight swap.

I hope like hell our club doesn't do what it usually does, and bends over backwards for a player who wants out.

Humphrey, or get to work in red and blue, a club you happily committed to on big money.

Been pretty spot on this trade period hasn’t he? There’s a hundred nuffies on here that laugh and roll their eyes at initial trade reports re Trac and Clarry and they’ve all been true?

Gets a lot right then wrong and has broken some fairly big stories of late.

People get so butt hurt about him that its actually funny watching them cry and melt over him doing his actual job.

When it comes to Petracca, Tom Morris is rarely wrong.

He gets his information straight from the source, if you get my jist.

I feel like if we desperately wanted Humphries (which I hope we do), it may have to be a straight swap, with maybe steak knives going both ways. They also won’t let him go for unders unless he forces the Suns hand, which is unlikely. Still a lot to play out.

This is definitely going to be another one of those drinks by midday type of trade period.

Are GC saying that Humphrey is worth 3 first rounders? What then is a Norm Smith Medalist who they want/need as a marquee, feather-in-their-caps player worth? Pay up GC. Player and picks or give US 3 first rounders.

Yes, correct.

In principle I agree, but Trac is almost 30 and has shown a bit of shyness around body contact since his injury.

A lot depends on how much AFL House wants Trac at the Suns. If they are desperate for this move to occur, as the Suns need a 'big win', then they might give Dimma a call and tell him it's time to get off his high horse and make it happen.

Unfortunately we couldn't have picked a worse coach to deal with. He hates Melbourne, and he is a pr!(k!

I truly believe they don’t care either way.

Several years ago when GC were deadbeats, sure, but today I reckon AFL House would just be standing out of the way and letting the Suns continue what they seem to have done pretty well last couple of years.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
