Are you the leak? Or maybe weโ€™re closing in on a deal and heโ€™s loath to sabotage it..?

No. I believe everything i know is known by other player managers

It'll be an interesting next few days DF!

Put it this way, I wouldn't be surprised if we hear him come out in the next 48 hours. I keep asking myself, if the dees truly believe he is out of the picture, then why are they persisting?

Where are you getting the Flanders information from? Months ago?โ€ฆ.

Was widely reported in the media back in June that Flanders was looking to move, and the only club mentioned in those reports was St Kilda. Someone knew.

You have made up your mind and that's fine. But answer me this, how have I got the other things right? Just curious

Can anyone in this camp explain how losing a future 250 gamer in McVee and Petracca for what will be picks 10 and 11 in a weak draft is actually a good result? Or is it just the (justified) pessimism where we expect to be shafted at the trade table?

I asked that and the HOPE from the dees is that he does

By when?

Please donโ€™t get hate just my idea but Trac for Humphrey in my opinion is a great swap. GC are in the window for the next few years to win a premiership (years trac probably has left in his playing career) we as some would say are in a rebuild and BH would probably get knocked back in GC team anyway being replaced by Trac and makes sense coming to us. You donโ€™t have to agree it was just my thought and opinion.

I was hopeful of Humphrey too. But probably time to accept itโ€™s likely not going to happen.

But people saying 7&8 arenโ€™t enough, and that we should keep Trac if thatโ€™s the offer, are wide of the mark too.

No player in AFL history, as far as I can remember, has gone for two top 10 picks in a trade. Yes itโ€™s a compromised and weak draft, but itโ€™s still an excellent haul for a bloke whoโ€™s about to turn 30.

No point jumping off the West Gate if thatโ€™s what it ends up being. Just have to back JT in to do his thing.

But we are also giving picks back to GC.

Jeremy Cameron went to the ferals for 2x 1st rounders and a future 1st.

I donโ€™t hate the Suns but I donโ€™t like being bent over by them and pleasing their every wish.

I know itโ€™s just the way the system works at the moment but weโ€™re being used as their dumping ground so they can offload two draft picks that they donโ€™t want or need so they can accumulate points with second and third rounders so they can take a superstar of the competition and 2 of the top 5 players in the draft crop (which only bats about 6 deep).

Woe is me but I hate it

If it hasn't happened by Thursday, I'm prepared to put money on the fact that it won't happen.

With two 2nd rounders coming back the other way.

To be honest, I would not know what you have got right or wrong in the past.

Iโ€™ve just jump back on the last 3 days and followed this, not as intense as some others on here.

I hope you are right as a Melbourne supporter we are.

I just asked my contact whoโ€™s Melbourne supporter who works in the media world.

Just replied Suns wonโ€™t be trading him.

Right now I 100% hope you are right cos he laughs at the fact I jump on here occasionally

Apparently Taylor is fairly keen on one of our players cousins. Don't follow the draft so not sure who this is

Guessing that'd be young master Picketts?

That's the general consensus within the media, however this is not what dees think or they would have moved on by now

Gor a first name so I can take a look?

Apparently our picks in the 20s is the target for this player

Me neither

All his info comes from some Gold Coast player who makes mediocre pasta on TikTok

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
