I find it incredible that nobody is talking about the head knock. That knock has been checked out all season, but this time nothing.

Was it last week or the week before, where the AFL doctors went into the rooms to check on a players shoulder??? Yet here's a head knock and they ignore it, now the media is ignoring it as well. Especially since half of the city of Geelong is suing the AFL over head injuries, I find it incredible.

Kai Lohman should've been off under concussion protocols too, but it's the AFL they just make it up as they go.

Chris Scott went all out for the post match presser didn't he!

Wow! Imagine your doctor giving your medical test results in make-up like this, especially if he had just said unicorns on Mars made the moon. 🤣

Above some how I lost the last half. If he could not do more than a guy with one arm then what was he doing in the team. You are playing a guy who cannot Mark and that is one of his usual strong points. I can see nothing that supports a guy with a broken arm continuing to play in any game.

Reeks of arrogant desperation and negligence.

I guess Snott knew they couldn’t win unless Jeremy Cameron went on a rampage.

Has their club doc been to med school? What did he think the injury was?

Well this should be interesting

Classic whitewash coming up one would expect.

Surprised that he didn’t also have a whinge about the Brisbane FS stars, conveniently forgetting the bookends Scarlett and Hawkins who kept them up there for a decade or more.

The whole point of the sub is to deal with an injured player. It benefitted Scott today even though he couldn't see it. A few years ago he wouldn't have even had the sub and it just becomes another rotation, which is his wish.

The irony is the coaches begged for the sub when the concussion protocols came in. Now they want it gone. It's one of the great examples of AFL reactivity that the coaches have been able to con them into adding a 5th man on the bench.

Chris Scott is an absolute [censored].

What the hell does he think the sub is for?

He has the perfect opportunity to use a Medical sub, due to a player receiving a broken bone and possibly a concussion, and instead he has a whine about the rules?

What a total [censored] wit.

There needs to be an investigation into how the player’s welfare was pretty much ignored. It’s lucky that Chris and his brother were not playing in that Brisbane team - they might’ve tested the arm out.

He famously covered his swastika tattoo with a rising sun tattoo.

So he’s on something and should be in something. Like a padded cell.

Do they still exist?

Asking for a friend....

A path to rationalising the interchange and sub rule.

Maximum four on the bench with one player each quarter nominated as the sub ie cannot be part of the rotation. If a player is to be subbed out, it must be at a break (QT, HT,3QT).

Reduce the number of interchange to, say, no more than 10 per quarter and no player can be interchanged more than once per quarter. That'll slow them down.

Further, any player that is subbed out in a match is automatically precluded from playing in the next match (not week in case of a bye) so that strategic subs are seriously reduced if not eliminated. Remember that the cagiest and sneakiest participants in our great game are the coaches who will find a way to stretch and game any new rule.

To make it tougher, any player subbed in must play in the next match. That'll mess with their minds. And given that there must also be four different subs (one per quarter) the 4D chess becomes even more complex.

Why not? I commend this new approach.

Chris Scott. Sore loser. Sour grapes. He’s an arrogant piece of 💩💩💩.

Let’s himself down with his sheer hubris.

Good coach … yes.

Sore loser … yes indeed !!!

I'm surprised Chris Scott didn't blame Melbourne for the loss, on account of us distracting his midfield coach with a new job.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
