Off the market …

Looks like talking to us was a good negotiating tool for him. Got what he wanted in the end.

lol the close mate thing always makes me laugh.

Also saw another article that because his 'close mate' Nasiah signed on, Windhager is more likely to sign on with Saints as well now.

Obviously closer to Nas than Heath. ☹️

If St Kilda can land Flanders (which I hope they don't) I think the absolute minimum expectation should be top 8 for them next year.

TDK, Silvagni, Flanders, Alir, Ryan and the critical retentions of NWM and Windhager.

A pretty good haul for a team that's done next to nothing in 15 years.

Add in a healthy Max King.

Wilkie likely will stay.

At absolute worst they let Marshall depart who may be surplus to requirements if Max King returns to the forward line.

Questions will need to be levelled at Lyon if he can't get them to finals.

I heard the Media combined with the AFL to make Windhagger an offer he couldn't refuse to stay with St Kilda.

They seem to have an endless budget this year.

To be fair, they've had a war chest for ages, and failed constantly to attract top talent.

Other than NWM, who else on their list is getting paid well? Max King is on a long term deal, but on lower dollars.

They would have cap space, especially since Nasiah only re-signed for 2 years. I reckon he's gone for all money if they don't improve significantly over the next 24 months.

Yes well add all those players signed for 26 and they wouldn't have needed last quarter heroics v us, they would have beaten us by 15 goals!.. says a Lot!

Who is arkhus windbagger??

Yep, rightio, who else wants to use us as a bargaining gambit to pump up their contract?

I don't mind it. The attention is nice. In high school one of the official 'hot girls' was all into me for almost two whole weeks for much the same reasons, and I wouldn't say I was suffering.

Yes well done Marcus you got your extra year and extra $$$’s out of the War Chest, not sure where the Saints are getting all this extra coin from but good luck to them, hopefully they can now get their (censored) together and make the eight in ‘26, your welcome Marcus.

Spoke to the author of the tweet today and he said at the time he said Windhager was gone, we had the best offer on the table and in his opinion at that time he was gone.

Of course the Saints then came to the party and upped their offer, making him happy to stay.

Do the Saints realize that the salary cap isn’t a guide or the minimum amount they need to spend? Money for everyone!

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
