If I was old in 1993 I am most certainly now the ‘living dead’. So sad.

(Still couldn’t name one of his songs now to save my life).

This should help explain who he is and what his name is.

subjectiveit the 80's and we're talking about NWA again?

If Eminem came out, would there be the same outcry? His lyrics are far more explicit

Snoop has been married for 30 years and has never committed acts of violence against women. He did grow up in the gangs and poverty and had to get out doing whatever necessary

Music is art, like a movie - if you sing or rap something it doesn't mean you support it.

He is good enough for the Super Bowl and the Olympics but I guess the AFL is a moral step too far. Maybe he should stick a finger up someone's jacksy to be clear to perform

Maybe we could show loftier ideals ??

Strangely... this will shock you ... artists are often associated and representative of their art.

Granted, music, movie, art ...are all subjective. Possibly not all like or appreciate the subjects.

I used to be of the belief the Granny was ostensibly a family event??

As always each to own.

I dont mind overseas performers if it brings a global audience but I have no time for wrap music.

I would have preferred someone like Keith Urban who has local and an international profile.

Who's Keith Urban?

They probably asked Kendrick but he's not here til December and Tyler would've left the country already.

Taking my son to his first concert next week to see Tyler. Gonna blow his socks off.

Rancid choice of "artist". Absolute distaste from me, and I cannot understand how any woman would be at peace with his "music" considering the disgusting lyrics he has propagated over his career. He is on record as saying he has no regrets about his woman-hating lyrics, even though he had a mild moment of regret when confronted by Dionne Warwick.

Drugs, pornography, gang connections - a real winner this bloke.

Where are Caro, Bec Maddern, Kelly Underwood - they should be up in arms over this. But no, they tow the party line and remain silent.

I rarely enjoy the half time GF entertainment but I will be turning it off this year.

Loftier ideals than a kid from long island that’s become an entrepreneur and cultural icon?

The man is a legend and the kids love him.

I get domestic abusers like Wayne Carey or general thugs and sexists like De Geoy being banned from events but i don’t see it with Snoop

Wow, used to feel I was getting old, now I know I am. Who the hell is Snoop Dogg?

But then again I never heard of Taylor Swift until she toured in Australia the other year.

Snoop daggy daawg is very Milli Vanilli.

DEEP PURPLE would have been sensational with Highway Star, Black Night aaand SMOKE ON THE WATER!

He did prison time for cocaine possession and trafficking, was charged with murder, which he happened to beat and also was charged with sexual offences.

This is the entertainer the AFL has chosen for the GF.

Seriously, this is who they have chosen?

I would rather have chosen Meatloaf’s corpse.

This is an absolute disgrace, though I am sure many of the younger DL’s will disagree.

The AFL is just so pathetic on so many fronts now.

I would rather give the $5m to junior footy and have Mike Brady do a couple of numbers, get some more vision inside the rooms and just get on with the game.

Was he charged with sexual offences or was he sued by a ‘Jane Doe’ who later dropped the suit? Big difference.

Yes correct, not charged with sexual assault, but has faced multiple allegations and lawsuits from several women claiming sexual assaults.

Did face a murder charge.

Been a pimp too I believe.

Lyrics denigrating women have outraged women’s groups fighting domestic violence.

It’s very easy to judge when coming from a place of white privilege. He grew up in poverty, with a largely absent father (when he was in the picture, he was an abusive drunk); his role models were drug dealers and gang members when growing up. Yes, he performed some songs containing misogynistic lyrics. Yes, he was charged with possession of illicit substances (when he was 18) (charged 20 odd years ago with marijuana possession as well), yes - he claims to have been a pimp in 2003 (this claim was made just prior to the release of ‘Starsky & Hutch’ where he played a pimp. No evidence was identified to support his claim; I’m of the opinion that this claim was made for publicity purposes).

People are allowed to evolve and grow. He now supports dozens of charities (including giving to female victims of domestic violence). He also founded the Snoop Youth Football League, which provides opportunities for youth in underprivileged neighbourhoods to participate in football and cheerleading.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

Concerningly, average attendances in 2024 were 2,660 fans per match, with the women’s game incurring an annual loss of approximately $50 million.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
