Can’t be sure but I think there’s a guy hiding behind a tree over the other side of Gosch’s. He looks not unlike the Paddle Pop Lion and he’s taking notes.

Keep all the positive posts coming. I just wish I could be there !

And I hope it’s a great session. Nothing to lose tomorrow. It’s either a new coach at the Dee’s watching or showing other clubs how good player “x” might be. Go Dee’s

Your username is back to front. It should read "Snide Gregory".

I did. I told him we’re all proud of him and we hope he has a great day tomorrow. I said it’s good that he’s finally been selected, he said he feels ready now and that he’s very confident.

I congratulated Jai on his successful debut and told him he should go on the DA TikTok because our resident TikTok creator, @Katrina Dee Fan has made a couple of special vids, one on the speccy he took and one on his first goal. I know he’ll check them out when he gets a chance because why wouldn’t you? 😁

Lovely morning at Gosch's. Looking for subtle changes - the entire group walked over from AAMI together - they are usually more like Brown's cows.

All 23 present, plus the carryover emergency, Sharp. The other two emergencies, Campbell and Jefferson are playing in Brisbane (Casey started very well!).

Interim CEO and Richo present (as usual, constantly on the phone).

TMac family present as usual with the Viney kids. No soccer game today. Trac doing his usual goal-kicking practice.

Judd tells supporters "he's not going anywhere".

Chappy embraced by a particular trackwatcher (guess who!?).

Still some sadness in the air - the familiar strut/saunter of Goody not present.

No prospective coaches spotted.

Attention @picket fence

Knuckle McVee told me I can confidently up the ante to four bottles of perfume. He added that I won’t be purchasing any whiskey unless it’s for a reason other than to settle a bet with you coz I ain’t losing it. Ergo… you are. 😏

Any chance his re-signing gets announced before I die of old age? 😂

Most of the players came out of AAMI grouped together, usually they are out higgledy-piggledy. Troy Chaplin last into the shed.

Quite a few friends and family of the players, are down here.

Plenty of dew on the ground making them concentrate on ball use.

I heard they have a business as usual kind-of attitude. They appeared to be similar to last week's Captain's Run, of keeping it all in house, not much emotive or outward looking.

I could feel a bit of relief from them as they stepped onto Gosch's for their first public outing since the “decision”.

The young ones had a boundary lap, with Tracc joining them.

Fritta and Clarry hanging out together.

Salo and Rivers doing run throughs.

Melky, lots of good work goal kicking.

Plenty of them having a go from the opposite side of Gosch's, on the boundary, doing the highly skilled attempts at goal.

The leadership group did little but congregate centrally, and chat. Gawn, Chandler, Tmac, and Viney, Radford not far away from them.

Bassett with the goal kicking group, Williams must have followed Casey up to Brisbane.

Jones who is looking very fit, getting around to a few of them.

Chaplin, started with a chat and some instructions to Adams, got around to some others and appeared very relaxed and ready for it.

The track-watchers think it is Buckley to lead us, there was a rumour he was behind a tree here, getting a sneaky, early look.

any sense of sub or positional changes.

No hint of sub or positions, as there was no structure to todays run.

Big thanks to Ghostwriter, Harvey Wallbanger, Kev Martin and all posters, greatly appreciated. Let’s hope all the boys play well tomorrow. It will be a tough day for them all.

This really bothers me. To me, that's not galling practice. I don't care one bit if they miss the speccie boundary shots. They need to practise the regulation shots, set shots from 30-40 m out on a slight angle, etc. If we regularly kicked those, there wouldn't be a problem.

Have you ever played footy? From under 8’s to Seniors players always gave shots from the boundary at training.

That doesn't respond to my point at all

Only Roo should be practising goal kicking from the boundary line..

I think it is the safest place to kick from. If they miss no hit to ego, get it and you hear the accolades.

Miss from 30 meters out on an a small angle, higher expectations and takes work, and repetition.

Those with a good process are working hard on craft, usually the seniors, and forwards. The youngsters are on the boundary having a good time.

I think they are given plenty of leeway at these pregame and post game runs.

Prefer that than soccer.

Goodness me no, I've never been a member of any law enforcement agency.

I'm a Doctor as it happens and it is my professional opinion that you would benefit greatly from a full course of these.

Thanks for that advice. In fact maybe it should be prescribed for all Demonland posters.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
