And [censored] want us to hire Hird. He ruined that club for 20 years and counting.

Collingwood crowd clapping him off .Fair enough.

But they didnโ€™t clap Gus off.

Too busy chanting โ€œCollingwood โ€œ

I feel for the player but not Collingwood or supporters. I too remember that night and the chanting while he lay unconscious on the ground. That turned out to be Gus' last game his career ended by a thug. I will hate them until the day I die.

would be insanity to hire Hird in any capacity

This has to be one of the most boring seasons of AFL ever

There is not one decent game left this round. Odds of $17 and even $21!

Our game probably the best chance of an upset. maybe port.

Might do some gardening

Come on Dub, things aren't that grim.

Why don't you rock on over to my place tomorrow with a few beers?

I've got lots of gardening jobs that need doing.

See you tomorrow

I might not be very good at gardening but my rates are very high

Geelong having a nice easy run into finals

i wouldn't be surprised if they win it all. really hope they don't

Geelong v Essendrug was never going to be epic but having the commentators' noses constantly up Cameron's [censored] has made it totally unwatchable.

I'll find a B grade movie on Prime.

Hudson wonโ€™t shut up about him. I feel sorry for his partner when he gets home.

Perhaps said partner will be waiting in breathless anticipation while clad in a cute little jeelong jumper.

Number 5 on the back of course.

Miersโ€™ pokey little kicks give me the absolute [censored].

You'll be reassured to learn that an anagram of Gryan is "angry". cool

Essendon have had 12 Thurs/Fri/Sat night games this year which is an interesting decision by the AFL considering they are rubbish and have done sweet F-all for 2 decades.

Sometimes easy runs can be the worst prep for finals. hopefully it is the case

For me it is Lions

then daylight

then Crows

records against the top 9 is telling

Due to me wanting Geelong to fall straight of the finals so badly, I actually just heard myself say "go Essendon".!! I feel dirty.

Does this mean a 4 week ban here on Demonland?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasnโ€™t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals. ย

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturdayโ€™s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFLโ€™s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
