I'd interview him 😉 😆

Hopefully we appoint a GM FD before committing to the coach.

A coach would want to know who his boss will be and that their ideas on game plan, list etc are aligned.

Lets not put the cart before the horse and get the coach first!

Ideally the GM FD is onboard in time to finalise the coach.

Caro seems to think that Adam Simpson is the favourite to take on that role.

Yep.

Think that role suits him perfectly well.

I would give him the job.

I just want someone "anyone" who will make the players accountable on the field. No more learnings or Momentum etc.

And someone who has contingency moves ready from selectionday and the gonads to make them the moment momentum changes.

Bring back Roos and PJ to oversee FD recruitment process over the coming weeks and month's.

Reckon the AFL will have moved them to Hobart pretty soon

I am betting on Cam Bruce..

He and Brad Green would have a special relationship as they played together for many years.

A Demon at heart..

Well schooled at Hawthorn and Brisbane, fresh and new

Get the longer odds before they tighten!!!

West Coast traded and drafted their list in to oblivion so that would be a bold call.

You’d think Adrian Hickmott would be the odds on favourite if Simmo took the GM job.

Must give a ring to Cam Bruce and Corey Enright IMO

Agreed and they will bring in their own people i hope.

You would think the club does a deep cleanse of the Footy Dept, Richo, Chocco i.e assistance coaches, medical dept i.e Selwyn, list manager i.e Lamby etc.

Fitness at the top of the tree along with ball movement, trading/attracting talent and coach with enough back bone that is strong enough to take back control of elite fitness programs.

The talk here in the West is that Simmo who is moving back to Victoria is looking to extend his coaching career. The West Australian which has a close relationship with Simmo stated in a headline from a coupe of weeks ago that he is moving to “Melbourne” not “Victoria” is very suggestive. Why move back without a serious job offer if so? Where could it be, Norf, Carlton or us?

At that point before the Saints disaster I reckon it would have been Carlton.

Sadly I think the top trio will be replaced.

In the future can we get someone who can improve the forward half's goal kicking skills.

I really hope that we don't get Simpson. Given that West Coast are a far bigger and much more resourceful club than it us it says a lot that that they ended up becoming Melbourne 2013 levels of bad under his watch. They don't look like getting back on the up anytime soon either.

The optics of this..?

Whoever it is, they MUST have to come from a successful program ie; Geelong, Brisbane, Hawthorn etc, even a massively successful 2nd tier comp we still have both Alan Richardson and Mark Williams in the background. Steven King is a highly regarded person and coach from all reports.

I dont like the idea of Buckley, Simmo or horse, their time has come and gone. A fresh voice and hunger to succeed.

I'd love to see Brendan McCartney back at the club, great person, great with the young fellas and has a great no [censored] policy.

A caller to sen mentioned that Skipworth is in line to coach us next and Carlton are also looking at him.

Wait and c I suppose.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
