Goal on the siren to Brisbane

HT Casey Demons 7.6.48 Brisbane Lions 8.6.54

Goals Kentfield 2 Billings Brown Jefferson Johnson Laurie

Disposals Spargo 13 Billings Bonner Tholstrup 12

Can someone tell me about this guy Lual? He looks great to me and I'd like to know if he is tied to us, how old he is - just a bit about him? Sorry for my ignorance.

Massive Momentum swing to Lions. Casey have seemingly been abducted by aliens. Well it is Queensland.Earth Aliens GIF by Lil Dicky

Billings. Spargo. Throlstrup. AJ.

Luker with 2 goals.

🤮Like MFC, Casey cannot work out how to stop momentum

🤮Somebody want to pressure Beecken for the lions - we seem reluctant to stop oppo half backs that run and distribute

🧐Kalani White will need 2 years in the gym and on the protein shakes.

Luker kicks his third. Great signs from the young lad. Jeffo has also attacked the ball well and presented up the ground.

Beautifully worked by Laurie and Tholstrup to find Jefferson in the pocket.

Jeffo sadly shanks the bejesus out of the snap.

ohmigod el jefe what the hell was that

appalling - snapped it from 35m out on his right and the ball didn't go 20m; it virtually dribbled along the ground

he leaves so much to be desired

Verrell takes a strong grab in the goal square and kicks truly!

Clunk and goal from Verrel, could be an interesting ruck/forward option in future

He seems to do both a lot right and an awful lot wrong. Zero excitement left for him.

Are we going to give our third goal in a row in the last seconds of the quarter?

I've been following this club for decades and the one consistent thing we've always done incredibly well is Deetime.

We just seem to always put in good efforts and then bloody lapse in the last couple of minutes.

Really good game of footy.

We're defending and transitioning really well but just not finishing.

This commentator is horrendous. I know he’s by himself but god he talks complete [censored].

Defence is holding up well here. Multiple entries from the Lions over the last five minutes.

3QT Casey Demons 9.9.63 Brisbane Lions 9.9.63

Goals Kentfield 3 Billings Brown Jefferson Johnson Laurie Verrall

Disposals Bonner 19 Fullerton Spargo 17 Billings Duursma 16

Casey get away with one as Sam Day misses from 10m directly in front.

Lions take the lead 64-63

Edited by Demon Jack

i missed the entire 1st quarter where we got out to a the lead which they reeled back straight away

been quite a good watch to 3/4 time

spargo miles too good for this level, as is the latest duursma who is playing for us today

fullarton been surprisingly good as basically the only tall down back, while kentfield shows a heap leading and attacking the contest, as does el jefe from time to time, but the latter's kicking is diabolically comical at times

the usual suspects all standard good enough for vfl, not good enough for afl players - laurie, billings, the kolt all look like very good, ordinary footballers

woey 2.0, henderson, pup brown all just ordinary

Seem to doing very well against a very good lions team

Any Lions we could look to recruit?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
