Never thought Baker would play finals footy. But there you go and not thr worst for the dogs

How is it since the 21 season bont has thrived to be the best player in the comp & Oliver & trac have pummelled backwards. Obviously trac had the injury but even before that he was off his game

Simple, he’s got a lethal boot. Neither Trac nor Clarrie are elite kicks like him.

Not sure if these are the rules but after his presser all supporters blood should be boiling!

WTF are you talking about? Seriously, that makes no sense. Maybe you could take your stream of consciousness elsewhere. Time To Go Goody beckons. Seeeya 👋

Looks unhappy.

They are 12 goals up!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Beveridge smile

Our senior players have a general lack of respect for the club and the jumper and think they run it.

Bont talks about the club, his teammates, as an entity. Our senior players seem to care more about themselves. Compare the way Pendlebury and Viney both handled their last contract negotiations.

If I could take only one player from another club, it would be Sam Darcy hands down.

I like him, but if you make him put his hands down he’s a lot less impactful.

What’s happened to Hogan, his form has fallen off a cliff.

Different type of player. Trac and Oliver were inside mods. If the game had not become so offensive in nature, they would have excelled.

The modern game suits Bont to a tee. I’d say Callaghan is placed to be the next best player in the comp.

FWIW I don’t rate Daicos in the same class as those two.

This was taken in their premiership year of 2016.

I doubt if it has ever happened again.

That run down tackle in the final quarter was brilliant. I hope he takes his opportunity

Hell on earth are we going to stop Darcy, naughton & English next week?

We could:

(1) Bribe an attendant to put itching powder in their socks.

(2) Put Bowey on a crash diet of human growth hormone.

(3) Find a way to clone Max.

(4) Pray.

Dogs are a genuine chance to win 2 of their last 3 and have 14 wins and a % of 130 and miss finals

madness

Actually a team with 15 wins could miss out on %

stay tuned for more BS hypotheticals

The dreaded foot issue. I think from memory it’s a long standing injury that’s reoccurred. Foot issues as we know too well can kill a career.

Looking forward to seeing the Saints go down to North to maximise the ignominy of last weekend.

No way, that will make it worse if nth can beat the Saints & we couldn't. I hope the Saints bury nth & I'll be disappointed if nth can stop NAS

Week 1 match ups:

Adelaide (1) V GC (4)

Geelong (2) V Collingwood (3)

Brisbane (5) V Hawthorn (8)

Fremantle (6) V Bulldogs (7)

The highly talented GWS somehow missing.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
