I just can't believe that it got to the point where people were willing to donate money in order for a player (who should have played weeks ago) to get a game.

i think its a bit like buying raffle tickets at your local cricket club, when the prize is a $20 meal voucher. the money is going to a good cause (the club) and no one really expects that their money will have any effect on selection (sorta like no one cares bout the raffle).

I actually went a bit nuts when he kicked that goal, jumped up and landed right on my fractured foot

I forgot I'm disabled for a minute, and spent the rest of the match regretting it.

Thankfully that was his only goal for the night, or I would have ended up back in hospital.

i did that in 2000 v carlton in the final, i had dont my knee months earlier and it was still tender but i forgot and jumped up and yep it hurt like hell.
