The boys aren’t even out on the park yet and there’s already quite a few people here. I reckon we’re gonna smash training attendance records today… there’ll be at least 20 people!!! 😅

Collingwood training sessions say Awww you’re so cute, Melbourne

Edit: I just did a head count. Including everyone, even tiny little babies in prams and some folks that are here walking their *dogs and a couple of council workers (but may well be Dees fans) there’s 53 people.

*Dogs not included in the head count coz that’d be silly.

Most of us are effectively paying collingwood supporters to go to watch their training

Something’s not right today. I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Oh, that’s it! There are no soccer balls 😱

Wow talk about weekenders. Geez Louise. Biggest turnout I’ve seen that didn’t include a DA sausage sizzle. We would’ve cleaned up today.

Casey boys had a day off today.

Brad Green was there and stop reading if you don’t rate him but I thanked him for being our President, NOT our interim President. Ok, you can start reading again. I told Claz about all the love and respect and gratitude for him on here and he said that means a lot to him, and you know it does because he only tells the truth.

I made 30-odd new buddies today: an entire under 12s footy team over from Perth. One of them sheepishly approached me and asked if I’m in charge of the players. Bless. They’re here for a few days and they’ll be at our match tomorrow night. They went to last night’s match. For many of them this was their first game in Melbourne… Ess vs GWS…. at Marvel…. 20,000 people… did I mention Ess vs GWS? 😳 Poor sods.

They said “Come and talk to our dads!” So I went and talked to their dads. The dads took note of where the cheer squad will be tomorrow and they’re gonna try to sit near us. Mostly Eagles and Freo fans, a few Collingwood fans and an Essendon fan. I was just as nice to the Essendon fan. He’s young, he’ll soon realise he’s following a crappy team. They’re all Demons fans tomorrow night though which is great coz we’ll need as many Dees fans there as possible ♥️💙

Today’s session made the usual captain’s run look like a brutal, intensive 4-hour long training session. Not a lot to report coz not a lot happened. Max and Kozzie were swamped by kids for most of the time.

Now let’s play “Where’s Kozzie?”

He’s in this pic…

Hi, where will you be sitting tomorrow night?

Thanks Ghosty. Just the named 23 present today. No emergencies present (Howes, Campbell, Petty).

I did see a soccer ball, but there was no game - they usually play a game in their recovery sessions.

Mostly goal-kicking practice and Max was doing quite well with his "round the corner" shots from short range - less than 40 metres out. It will be interesting to see if he goes through with the change of technique the next time he is close - he may have been encouraged by the one he flushed on Sunday? That was too far out to try his new method. Trac's attempts were looking much better today.

In Bay M33 Ponsford end (boo!) meaning the Carlton cheer squad sit in our regular bay M3. Being the away cheer squad at the ‘G sucks.

He was wearing a hoodie and was bending slightly to sign something, but it’s definitely Koz.

Big thanks for Ghostwriter, Harvey Wallbanger and all posters the reports indicate very low key Captains Run today but probably due to 6 day break. Really looking forward to watching the game tomorrow night.

Dang it. The website say this weeks sessions were going to be individual programs and no training at Goschs. How fn annoying.

That was in relation to Tuesday’s flush run only.

Let’s hope that sometime in the next three weeks they can disinfect the regular seats.

Just very tall 10-12 year olds ,

Ghostie there is no Sestan named anywhere. Did he train yesterday or did he fail to meet the speed targets he needed to convince Selwyn he is full recovered?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
