Thought I read somewhere Richmond might be keen. Could make sense with the Yze connection.

Really wanted us to give him a proper run at it. Just the one game as sub for 20 minutes this year after outperforming all of Tholstrup, Sharp, Billings and Henderson is ridiculous.

that makes sense. they need players and are young so he should get more opportunities

Why name someone, anyone if no real intent ?

Tmac not named but will now play.

All smacks of B.S.

F.D. playing games surely naming Campbell. Just a tease imo

What uninspiring selection, (though Sharp is a blessing) What exactly to look forward to this week?

Win well - big talent gap should be thunping these guys. Some of the younger players play well, some dont

Win small - lucky to win, will get easily beaten by the better teams. None of the younger players play well.

Lose - Meltdown. Hardly anyone plays well [Insert here] is underperforming and needs to be traded.

Not to say I dont want to win, but surely we need to use the next 8 weeks to learn something about our list, positional and roles if you are "rebuilding"

Spose I should wait for gametime and die of shock when May or Turner goes to FF, given their KPFs are worse than ours. No excuse not to put up 16 goals+ if the weather is fine.

Sadly I think we already know about our list, it ain’t great after the first 15. Play Jefferson for the next few weeks ? I don’t think you will see much difference. He hasn’t turned out as hoped. Drafting is not an exact science.

this makes no sense, we have already robbed one of our most loyal players ever the chance to play 250 games, well done to all involved..... still have no clue why he got dropped he was our second best defender at that point in the season and one of the few in the team who was actually playing well. dan turner to carry us tmr like he has every game this season, hope he is resigned because he is worth double then what he was before

Stop it! Where does a feeling like that come from 😂

I almost invariably back team selections by our Match Committee (who are much better placed than any of us to make these calls) but I will make the observation that Fritta will need to serve up a much, much better effort than his ‘limp wet lettuce’ performance in Adelaide. He is much better than that!

i would've preferred debuting adams to plugger mac coming in

I wouldn't Plugger should NEVER have been dropped in the first place

Last week I watched a far bit of the Casey game. Kentfield has what Jefferson doesn’t have Intensity! Players either have it or they don’t. We need to play Kentfield before seasons end. After a poor preseason he has shown improvement through the season. He looks like he wants the ball and he plays get out of way I am coming through.

I know it means not much but I really want a win. for the kids. for the adults. for the nuffies. for everyone

14 hours to go!!

Unfortunately the feeling at this time of year has been unrivalled since about 2015 in terms of the flatness and irrelevancy of the rest of our season (2019 we were raveled with injuries). At least then we were building. Now we have a super talented team who don't appear to give a stuff.

Goodwin still refuses to drop underperforming veterans because he wants to clock irrelevant wins against lower sides for his own win-loss record and survival, when he should be playing other fringe players and youngsters to see whether they're up to it. This will be detrimental to our season next year and leave us with little depth.

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
