a lot of people have Salo in their crosshairs on here.

I'd say Salem has been in people's cross-hairs since very close to the start. Understated footballer who seems to be the first on the "let's trade" list. (A long while ago, I know, but widely underrated in the GF.)

I've been a huge fan for a long while.

I do think he's slowed noticeably and at this stage I'd be open to making "tough calls" on anyone over 30 other than Max. And I think the lack of take-the-game-on aggression is a fair critcism. But I wonder whether how he plays - reasonably cautious short kicks that change angles around half back - is exactly what he's asked to do by the coaches. Only a couple of weeks ago Goodwin mentioned him by name in the press conference, something along the lines of "He's back to his very best footy after injury."

I'm not suggesting that if he wasn't being asked to do this, he'd be playing like Jake Bowey. I just think there's a fair chance he's following instructions to a T.

But I may be wrong. He may be dropped later today or later this year.

Wrong.

They have to name who’s omitted on the Thursday for a Sunday game.

No they dont...

They can still omit players from the extended bench when the final teams get released on a 5pm Friday.

This has been a thing for many years.. how have you not picked up on this?

Has polled Coaches votes in 2 games as well. Agreee he's playing the role he's asked -but if results aren't going your looks very ineffective

My brain hurts. Demonland is in a muddle. Do we want to "play the kids" or not? If we do, then playing Jefferson, Windsor, Tholstrop, Langford, Lindsay, van Rooyen and Henderson (if he plays, which I doubt) makes sense. Yet Demonland is full of mixed messages about this week's team

I’m afraid if you can’t beat North without LDU and Larkey, you have no business being coach next year

Fritsch continuing to be selected is a DISGRACE,!! Burns other players, is extremely selfish, and a very lazy footballer!

Yet he has contributed 5 goals in the past 3 games. Who from Casey is giving us that? Or do we punt on the great Jeffo who may come good in 2030?

It will be hard to excuse, considering we owe them from round 2, it's our home ground, they are missing maybe their best 2 players, and we have added May, Melksham and Turner into the side since round 2. I also can't imagine Gawn will have as poor a game as he did in round 2.

Losing this is not an option.

Be interesting to see who actually takes the field... and where.

Surely we win this

There isn't a lot of future playing TC but playing him may increase team performance - which in turn would benefit the younger generation.

after Goody revealed at the post match presser after our loss to Crows that we are in a rebuild I am pleased to see young Tom Campbell is a chance to debut for the club...

Yes you might be right. You can't blame Salem if that is what he is told to do. McVee seemed to be a run on player last year but not this year so maybe it is an instruction with only Bowey allowed to run on. Seems crazy to me as all the better sides create run and carry off half back to break lines and give forwards one on one opportunities

Yeah simply because we don't have any 200 cm+ alternatives. It's ridiculous.

you could make a claim for 5-6 established players to be dropped. salem, Fritsch, sparrow, chin. even langdon

I suspect they are undroppable....

Goodwin’s last stand if we lose, surely… doesn’t matter if they are missing LDU and Larkey. How North are $4.50 is beyond me. We lost to literal Essendon VFL side in 2016 and punters really believe we should be this short in the odds? McKercher is playing the best he has and Curtis could run rings around Salem and kick 5+. The guy is a gun.

We should win, but my confidence is rock bottom with this side.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
