That one has a very simple explanation. Kicking accuracy, we should've been 5 goals on top of them at 3 QTR time.

Which will continue to be our undoing going forward just as it has in the past.
Look at Collingwood last night.
You just know they aint gonna miss.
Us on the other hand .......

Good sides take their opportunities.

We’re going to have to be at our absolute best on KB. Massive pressure is the only way to beat them.

And kick accurately.

People are underestimating the Pies' game plan and how it has changed. They don't rely on contested ball; they rely on holding position at both ends of the ground and going heavy on turnovers. Guys like Sidebottom and the Daicos brothers drag their opponents into the contest, then back out of it, thus becoming free and unopposed to move the ball with speed. You really need to play the Pies man-to-man, not giving them free space to move in. It will be interesting to see how we play against them.

Hard at contest, clean with hands, goals not points, let them chase us, our think our style stacks up. Long down the line is death against them. They force you into that so you gotta go at times but you’ve also gotta hold, I think that’s what we’re doing!

Two results our way this weekend so far in the "Impossible Dream" Quest. Today's games are again pivotal with a Freo loss and and an upset win by the Tigers over GWS very useful.

Not sure about Swans v Suns. Head says Suns simply to further remove Sydney as a finalist but for the absolute optimist (not me) you could make a case for a Suns loss

Yes, we have been doing that a lot more, not quite there yet with skill levels, but it has also allowed us to move the ball into the forward line with different options.

Alex Pearce is a close second. One example: Rory Lobb’s first game as a Bulldog, in the centre circle before the game even started Pearce instigated a roughing-up session on Rory and of course the other nearby Dockers joined in. What sort of an example is that to set for your young players?

Suns are well off so far. hopefully they can find their groove. freo a direct competitor for a finals sport so don't want them to win.

Freo vs Suns; Corey Wagner is one of Freos best so far!?!?! Couldn't believe it. Didn't he play for us years and years ago?

conditions have turned this into a slugfest. its 50/50 game now

As much of a slog as it is I am finding it entertaining. Fremantle are an incredibly frustrating team, big gap between their best and worst.

those 2 freo goals to end the 3rd quarter have them in the box seat.

we'll see what the suns are made of now

Spot on.

I have only seen long highlights of last night’s game, but what i saw was incredible, they had spare players everywhere, down the spine

It was a Horrible Sight

Freo's defence and 2nd efforts in the wet have been really good. They are getting an extra player to most contests.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
