Casey turnover Southport goal. Rinse repeat.

4-15 it is beyond pathetic.

This year Billing 1-5, Woey 0-4, Culley 0-3 and someone I forgot 0-4.

Seriously these are still senior footballers.

Not even talking about the missed handballs and kicks.

18 AFL listed players playing for us at our ground.

Lever turns it over and then Jeffo misses from 15 out.

Which coach has them cut back into the corridor? The lack of skill to hit a target has cost 3 goals so far. I think Jeffo just did a hammy but has contributed little. The lack of skill and turnovers is unforgivable. Kolton having a mare and cannot get near the ball and just like the seniors our forward line structure and cohesion is sub standard. We have 18 AFL players on the park today and they are getting pantsed by Southport.

This is hard to watch. Terrible entries in to the forward line and shots on goal are worse. I just don't understand our inability to kick to advantage. It beggars belief.

Tholstrup looks so disinterested. Clearly having a sook in the VFL.

Going to be a long 3 years until his contract runs out

Meanwhile at Casey Fields Bowling Club…

Now Culley from 20 misses.

Meanwhile the Sharks go down the other end and goal again and again and again.

5-3 to 8 behinds, shameful football.

Jeffo finishes the quarter with an out on the full.

Laurie and Fullarton are travelling emergencies. Dees always take two extra passengers on the interstate trips.

Not been my observation the last 18 months 😜.

Southport getting away from Casey - as you would expect when a team kicks 8 behinds in a quarter. The Demons are 4.17.41 to the Sharks 9.7.61.

Goals Cross Hardie Jefferson van Rooyen

I think Blake has been pretty unlucky at the top level this year. He hasn't struggled IMV, but he hasn't had huge impact and there are other defenders ahead him.

I just wonder if they need to try him on the wing or at half forward where he played his junior footy.

I reckon we're gonna be alright for tall defenders, which will enable us to play Turner and probably Petty forward long term.

Howes has definitely struggled at AFL level this year and has made too many critical errors. In particular, fumbles and poor handballs. He needs to be ultra clean because he has no real penetration in his offence.

JVR is the new Roger Dorn. One handed [censored]

Sestan, Adams and Howes all look ok, Kentfield a couple of saves but the rest, oh dear.

Tholstrup playing like he thinks he should not be out there. His efforts today from my observation have been nothing short of pathetic.

I've wathed the last 25 mins and thought exactly the same thing.

I'm a big kolt fan but he's gone down in my estimation. i realise thats a big call given its only a quarter of footy, and he'll learn, but I put a huge stock in players who get dropped but don't drop their head.

Made worse by the fact that goody gave him mutiple games to prove himself and he gave goody nothing.

Wear the red and the blue and effort is 100% non negotiable.

One of the most ridiculous things I've heard this year is two Demons fans calling into senior after our win over the tigers furiously calling for goody to he immediately replaced as senior coach by choco Williams.

Blokes supposedly our kicking coach and in my 50 yearsof supporting the dees I don't think I can remember a list that accross the board is so woeful at kicking.

What a stinker

So [censored] frustrated

Part time team beating our full time professionals

Culley

Jefferson

Billings

All can go now !!!

JVR … looking lost

Hey Freo … Kolt might be available!!

Kentfield. Adams. Howes. Sestan. They are just ok. Just !!!

Still in the game if they are half interested

Stop kicking sideways and run through the corridor.

Rapidly turning into a Clinic for the Sharks. Smelling blood 🩸in the Casey Fields aquarium.

This game has reinforced a lot of my views.

JVR is a defender playing forward (and is being played forward because he is a good set shot kick for goal).

Jefferson is a bust.

K Brown could make it.

Sestan could make it.

Howes is a good VFL player.

Culley is way too slow.

Campbell is a very good backup.

Verrell is not strong enough or good enough at ground level.

I don't think Adams is a good enough kick to make it.

Overall, out list management decisions have been too conservative in turning the list over.

Paddy Cross goal of the week!!!

Oh please. If we'd kicked 17.5 or even 11.11 we'd be winning. Pretty clear what we need to work on

That's true, except it has been the problem for at least 3 years and we are actually getting worse.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
