If he leaves, I’ll thank him for the flag and the sacrifice, doesn’t mean I’ll treat rumours as fact now!

Fair enough. And there are certainly some wild rumours that amount to nothing more than vapour. But this isn't just one hack making something up. This is a player who has had serious concerns about the club, a life-altering injury and multiple sources suggesting both he and the club are open to a move.

He's been a wonderful player for the club, but that doesn't change the fact it seems highly likely he would be open to moving.

He’s had concerns, sure,so have half the playing group at different points. A life-threatening injury and a rough year don’t automatically equal ‘wants out.’ Multiple ‘sources’ in trade week are often just journos joining dots that aren’t there. Until Trac or the club go on record, it’s still speculation dressed up as certainty.

If it makes anyone feel better look at it as a conscious uncoupling.

Drunk, sad, and taking pot-shots at the bloke who’s bled for the jumper classy. ‘Bigger than the club’ vibes? He literally carried us to a flag, while you’re sitting here in a foreign bar throwing shade. Maybe sleep it off before rewriting history

I don’t think anything I said was overly-harsh. I also explained the nature of my post with an appropriate degree of gallows humour and self-deprecation.

Sharper minds here would have picked that up. As for “rewriting history”, do you actually need reminding that this is a social-media forum which houses opinions that range from the whimsical to the serious, but none of it ultimately really matters that much in terms of reality?

Or do you think you’re on Wikipedia?

It beggars belief that anyone could be this naive and delusional.

this thread is getting hard to read

posters will have different opinions on trac and that's fair enough. he might stay or he might go. neither position is delusional or unreasonable

Not quite my view but get your point.

The silence is the tell imho.

Everyone's cagey.

I don’t understand the saga.

What’s his beef this time around?

Playing on the G?

Not happy with the new coach ?

Come on Christian, step out of the shadows, time to pony up and tell us what your beef is this time.

Or maybe the ‘saga’ is more media invention than player reality. Every year they paint Trac as sulking in the shadows, yet he’s still turning up, performing, and finishing near the top of the B&F. If he’s got beef, let’s hear it from him not from a dozen trade-week gossip merchants.
Haven't you heard the latest over on the rumors thread?
try to keep up BLUEY!!!

If we could package both Adelaide picks into a top 5 pick , it maybe worth it - just get the circus over and done with.

You could get GCS involved too.

Adelaide get Trac for 14 and F1

GCS get 14, F1, 23 for Flanders and 6

MFC get 6, Flanders for Trac and 23.

We could do the exact same trade with GCS where instead of picks GCS get Trac. Just depends on what they prioritise.

I'd want the deal to keep our future 1st out of it. Either the deal gets done in another way or we keep Trac.

It's hard to know when no one is saying boo.

An element to all of this might be , emphasis..might... that a lot of ppl , including players, were caught off guard by the club casting Goodwin adrift. I think a lot of players admin etc all thought they knew the lay of the land and their place upon it. And then they didn't. Overnight a lot of plans and thoughts to the future effectively vapourised into the ether. All bets were off. A new slate was coming to town. Have a sneaking suspicion this unsettled a few apple carts . A lot of things seem to have "not happened" as many might have thought they might have,by now, pre Goidwin axing.

Has this caused a number to step back a bit and just watch and wait before giving away too much ?? No one was game to play the first card. Then the club played another. "All those playing for the Dees take a step forward ..... where do you think you're going Stephen !!"

This possibly only cements in to the minds of some to stand still and say nothing, for the moment.

In a week the new Sheriff ambles into Dodge. He'll start assembling his posse .Those he hasn't tipped his hat with a howdy yet are bound to get a sit-down. I think then and only then will things start unfolding, and rather quickly. Til then the rabid rabble aka footy media will scurry around in the shadows ferreting for any titbit. Whilst they're doing that all else are participating in national spaghetti western week.......

Pretty sure the only beef Trac’s got right now is on the BBQ while he’s on holidays 😅. The rest is just trade-week chefs overcooking the rumours.

Anyway, I’ll leave you all to keep chasing smoke while I wait for actual fire. Enjoy the echo chamber 👋.

Sick of running in circles here , feels like some of you would trade your own shadow if Tom Morris wrote about it. I’m out!

Yes that's what the media do, but I'm not sure why it's so unrealistic to think a player who wanted to leave for various reasons (not disclosed publicly), may still want to leave.

The way it played out last year was a debacle for all involved and IF nothing has changed then i'm sure all parties would want to ensure that it's not played out that public again.

Only Christian himself can tell us if he wants to leave, and he won't do that - so we're left with a schrodinger's cat-like situation.

No use beating ourselves up over it, just wait and see what eventuates.

There all terrible deals. We have to ask the world for Trac he's a champion of the game. The problem I see is that Lamb could do one of these deals. He's a poor negotiator 2nd round picks for both Frost and McAdam. I don't trust Lamb to do what's best for the club. Will be spewing if we don't get 2 players and a draft pick for him. I'd say keep he finished second in the best and fairest ahead of All Australian Pickett.

This proposal had Adelaide giving up their f1, not us.

Essentially Petracca and 23 for Flanders and Pick 6.

Why the hell are we giving them 23? A pick upgrade and Flanders doesn't cut it.

I think the proposed deal is very good on the condition Tracs full contract is taken on and we aren't paying anything. the unseen benefit we get of clearing that much cap space would allow us to be really aggressive in free agency next year.

If Zak Butters is looking to come back to Vic next year for example we could theoretically offer a really good deal with this space open.
