FOX FOOTY

Adelaide is growing in confidence Christian Petracca will choose them as his preferred trade destination this off-season.

My views:

Crows can offer NOTHING to the Demons. Nothing! Dees would need 2 x 1st round picks that are top 15. Trac is a star. A match winner. Runner up B&F. He’s the type of player that can play into his 30s and be a mid/fwd weapon. Trac should think about that choice, as my view, he would be foolish to pick them or indeed foolish to leave us.

P. Dangerfield did us a favour on Friday night by providing a shining example of just that.

C.Petracca can truthfully be, and must be, positively compared with him, and that performance, at every possible negotiating moment.

Why would Trac want to live in Adelaide with his profile and his other businesses plus family in Melb, makes no sense

14, F1 and Rachele

For Trac and 23

Send 14 to the suns for Flanders

Comparing Petracca to Danger, That’ insane. It’s like comparing Robbie Flower to Billy Bunter.

It’s exactly who he should’ve modelled his future on. Instead he chose to be a really average home cook with an IG following, just our luck!

Straight swap for nibbler???

What the hell has Rachele done? Just another big mouth. We should be going after Thilthorpe, Fogerty pick 14 and a F1 as minimum.

No thanks Nibbler is good but not that good.

Your right werridee, was just being a tad facetious.

Is there a world where we can end up with pick 6 and flanders in addition to not paying anymore of tracs contract.

Probably a little far fetched but in my mind a pretty good outcome for us?

He would work amazing in tandem with kozzie. Replace the X factor in our forward line when Kozzie is playing midfield minutes.

Has genuine goal sense and is the type of forward half talent we lack.

This is the one and they pay 1mill pa of Trac's contract.

Turns out you can make tiktoks in Adelaide, they do have the internet. Even if it's only 3G.

And playing in a top 4 side and maybe winning some finals is bigger for your profile than a 15th place Melbourne Demons copping the Sunday games.

Why wouldn't he?

Your not Tim Lamb are you? Terrible idea. Rachele has a lot to prove an enigma who is a wasted talent.

There is a reason we are getting rid of May he's the same stay clear of him.

On trade Crom F1 for Flanders

Take P14 to the draft wouldn't be terrible

I just don’t get this. This is the kind of deal you do to sweep away a contract.

We are underselling Petracca in my opinion and bringing emotion into it. We have a contract, he is a very good player, and we have a new coach that should see both sides intrigued by the fresh challenge.

Rachele's goal return:

2022 - 17.11

2023 - 23.25

2024 - 30.17

2025 - 27.15

After Fritta and Kozzy, he'd be comfortably our next consistently highest over that period.

He'd walk straight into our forwardline.

He's the perfect sort of player for our new King pingâ„¢, defensive half slingshot game.

If you want to play quickly, you need guys that can get it done on the ground and know where the goals are. He'd be huge.

Doesn't fit his profile to live in Adelaide & family, winning finals yeah straight sets exits will every familiar with!

I might have to retrack that wasted talent comment. Not just for Petracca though add Thilthorpe in then you have my interest. The have no picks that would interest us so it has to be players for trac.

The pick could land us another small forward that could add to a mosquito fleet around Fritta, JVR and say Mihocek/Melksham. Players like Lachy Dovaston and/or Latrelle Sumner-Pickett.

We're not getting Thilthorpe, but we might get a Victorian who we showed interest in last off season, in Rachele.

The thing we've lacked, aside from aggressive ball movement, is x factor, ground level forward half players that can hit the scoreboard.

If we're going to play aggressive game, we'll need small forwards who can make something out of dirty entries. And knowing some of the kickers in our team, there'll be plenty of dirty entries.

Collingwood and Geelong have shown over a number of years now that dirty entries are just as dangerous as perfectly directed entries.

Pick 14 this year becomes something like 20, plus this years draft is quite weak as well. Even if you add future first that’s unlikely to be any better. I’d be accepting a starting pick of no worse than top 5 this year plus something equal next year. If crows can do that than we can pickup the phone

Fantasyland. Not only are those picks not available, even if they were ...

Trac's a 30 year old on a massive contract. If he was coming to us no-one here would want to pay more than a couple of second rounders.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
