Eddie Maguire stood on a restaurant table to celebrate the Maynard tribunal decision where someone was knocked out and had to retire.

He likened Adam Goodes to a gorilla. He joked about drowning Caroline Wilson. Boning Jessica Rowe. Ect,ect,

But, yeah, Brad Green tweeting is an issue. ffs.

I do know what happened in 2022 Jaded, i saw videos before the media broke anything.

What has happened with Clarry is very sad and unfortunate, but he has to take some responsibility for it.

Yes and he is so don’t be so smug. It’s disgraceful what another D/Ler who called him a drop kick ( surprised thst was not censored) .

Clarry is trying very hard and doesn’t need the HSun article that Jay Clark posted 2 days ago. Most was premeditated trash from himself going over his recent trade issues. Not one piece of information he used he justified but only supposed most based on his trade time. Clarry had not said or indicated any thing about his future this season. Yes he may be disappointed about his form or game time but that is natural with any player/s.

Jay Clark did not even consider Clarry’s mental health in that article and I have now no respect for him on TV as well as his HSun articles.

Amazing lack of professionalism.

Meanwhile, I've uncovered what Jay Clark thought was Oliver's highlight reel.

I've been rethinking how much footy and footy media I bother with. When we had footy cancelled for months in 2020 it really reminded me how much I love having it there during winter. Even then with its return I didn't have to fanatically consume every minute of it or the 'analysis'. But thank God it exists. These days I'm trying to wind back more and more the amount I watch. There are other things I enjoy doing with my time and I'd be surprised if anyone reading this who don't also.

We can't do much about the favouritism or witch hunts. But gradually I'm not just watching/listening to AFL stuff just cos it's there. Especially football media is there for the ratings and money (with some ethics tempering all that). We're engaging to be entertained and informed. Our goals and theirs arent necessarily the same. Honestly if we're really not getting enough enjoyment or (accurate) info from the daily footy media circus why not find other diversions, especially nowadays with so many things we can watch/do?

Its really not going to matter if you miss some eps of Footy Classified, On the Couch or mornings with SEN

This is why I only listen to the Demonland podcast, not the Debrief nuffies who lack analysis and are all emotion. I have enough emotion with a four year old.

I seek to understand things and you won't get much of that from the AFL media or legacy media TBH.

Interesting Gerard Weatley on AFL 360 last night discussed Green's comments and said that the AFL Mrdia had been respectful while Oliver was away from the club and only reported on his return to the club. I was waiting for Gary Lyon to interject with the articles from Clark, reporting from Jon Ralph etc, speculating on game time, trades to Geelong etc while Oliver was away. Goody was pretty clear that the reports impacted Clarry's wellbeing.

Where am I being smug??

The only way these Gutter Journalists will stop reporting on Clarry is when he plays well. That’s what happens when you sign a long contract on big $$$’s.

These bastards thrive on misfortune, they sniff it out, i don’t agree with it, but it’s reality. My time in a newsroom finished just as the mobile phone became a part of everyday life, so players could get away with loads of crazy nights in clubs. There was a code back then.

But people like Craig Hutchison have torn that down, SEN exists on 90% controversy. Today it’s Willie Rioli’s turn

Clarry has to get fitter and play to his absolute maximum or else the vultures will continue to circle

That is fact, not an opinion

You are right Redleg I started to hear the AFL stirring from their slumber on 360 last night now the bells are going off in all directions. Good call.

The AFL couldn't tell a brothel to s the f up.

Demonland Poddie and Footyology for me. Forget the rest, just “experts” trying to out do each other with their “inside knowledge” by “a source that cannot be named”. Spare me

That's an incredible and horrible claim to notoriety for a player to have forever. It'd be rare that you could attribute a player's retirement to another player's actions.

There would be drivers who have to live with someone's death or maiming due to their vehicle being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Of course many would be completely innocent and free of blame. But the authorities would thoroughly review every detail of the accident and find anything the driver did wrong.

There is no way a Collingwood player would have jumped in the air so recklessly at a training session. If he did and a star such as Daicos then missed months with injury no one would have forgiven the act. Sorry, but it still rankles me how the whole Brayshaw incident was handled and how the instigator got off completely scot-free.

Football without emotion is just a game.

It's more I don't want emotion in my analysis.

You can't properly analyse if you're clouded by emotion.

This is where the AFL failed in it's ability to argue to the case. There is no way in hell that if that's a Pies player below him (at training or in a match) that that thug compresses his body to make maximum impact to the vulnerable player. It was 5 minutes into a final, he wanted to make a physical impact, and he did. Now a player has retired because of his actions and the AFL tribunal gave it the tick of approval. It sickens me every time I think of it and I honestly struggle to watch ANY pies game now, but particularly whenever Maynard is on screen.

Each to their own, the DeeBrief lads crack me up at times (and then other times they go right off the rails).

I had tonight's Blues-Saints game entirely muted even when I gave it my full attention tonight and it really is a much better experience. You see things more clearly; you notice facial expressions more, the play feels more dynamic, you piece together for yourself what the free kick was for, and if you comment about something yourself you don't have to talk over the bore wetting his pants on the microphone.

Another thought I was reminded of from this game - did the media go on a sniping spree at the Saints for their flat 20k crowd against the Dockers, or is there a functional 25% adjustment when comparing to Melbourne crowds?

Nathan Buckley 👍🏻

Finally someone speaks objectively about Clarry and his performance

No grandstanding

SEN. Clayton Oliver the tagger?

Buckley said he actually liked what he saw from the Demon in Round 9. It sometimes helps to be the Hunter rather than the Hunted.

What did you make of Clayton Oliver the tagger? 🤔

Kate McCarthy and @XanderMcGuire7 unpack his performance against Hawthorn on The Round So Far, thanks to @AAMI: afl.com.au/video/1318760

Xander and KMC 💩💩💩💩💩💩terrible. Just terrible. Horrible. They have no idea and no right to question Oliver. Pathetic journalism if you can call it journalism!!!

I don't know why you would bother watching them 'norm'...

If I see McGuires on my screen I quickly turn it off.
