Okay fellow Dlanders, I'm going to call that we will finish 6th this season.

Hopefully we don't suffer too many injuries this year and our midfield gets back to its prime which sees us into the finals.

I imagine that the giants and dogs slip out.

Not long now.

Go Dees.

Top 4 finish.

Easy draw, everyone up and firing, seasoned team with good mix of youth, Rivers & JVR set to explode.

Absolutely no excuses.

Freo won’t win the flag.

What happened to the I'm thinking emoji?

Finish 2nd, smash Carlton in the QF on a Friday night in front of 97,500 fans followed by Brisbane in the Prelim by 26. Play The GF in front of a full house, Oliver wins Norm Smith, Disco kicks 7 and Max retires holding the cup.

unless something goes horribly wrong, max won't be retiring at the end of 2025

happy for him to be holding up the premiership cup bit of this narrative to happen tho

Ok then Max confirms he’s going again but doesn’t mention a Dynasty this time around whilst also holding up the cup.

i prefer 'retires following our history-making four premierships in a row and immediately has the new caulfield facility, due to be opened january, 2029, commission a statue to go out the front

I’m thinking top eight, but not top four. At who’s expense I have no idea, but I’m hoping that Freo implodes and does a Dees ‘24.

We will finish 5th and Fremantle will finish 4th. Brisbane and GWS Grand Final. There are no excuses, and we have a great draw playing North Melbourne and West Coast twice. Harvey Langford to win the Rising Star award.

Who bought you to kill the party?

We will be at the G on the last Saturday of September.

To back that up I've booked a city hotel for that weekend - this year it is a non-refundable booking!!

My long range prediction is that we'll win both the '25 and '26 flags.

We have the cattle to finish top 4 but much depends on:

- a good run with injuries

- a competitive game plan.

if we don’t change the way we play, with a fully fit and with key players in top form, we could still finish top 8 playing predictable, defensive footy but we won’t cut it come finals against the sides playing the hard running, unpredictable, offence first footy we saw last season especially from Premiers, Brisbane.

The early signs I will be looking out for are:

- Max taking marks around the ground and going back to take a long high kick down the line VS immediately dishing off a handball to a mid running past.

- the coach lamenting the lack of connection between the midfield and forwards after we have won the hit outs, the clearances, the contested possessions and inside 50’s but still managing a close win/loss VS the coach lauding our forward efficiency that got us over the line.

Me and ChatGPT think this will happen…

It’s my inner realist… let me apologise on my behalf.

Definitely The Dream… but imagine the stress of the last few minutes!!! Not sure any of us would hold up. 😳

Your boss would be ok… must be used to losing Grand Finals by now 😂

That is exactly what I thought!

I would be like this 🫣 desperately waiting for the DA chant:  Mel - Bourne!

I hear ya Luci. But I wouldn’t be chanting… I’d be passed out on the ground. 😂

No, No!

I meant the chant when the game is won!  ideally in the last minute after we had a 'Bang! bang, bang!!! series of goals ala 2021 GF but end of 4th qtr not the 3rd.

Oh such a sweet enhancement to the ChatGPT predicted 10pt win!

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
