Both having quiet nights. Blakey.  Heeney. Gulden.  Too much run for port.

If Grundy & Jordan get premierships medals they will definitely be laughing

I'd be rapt for JJ to be in another gf & actually be on the ground. But thinking ahead it would blow my mind if he became a 2 time premiership player

Well, obviously not playing that well then

Luke Parker’s 5 th grand final. Time the AFL took away the NSW academies or at least out of the first round.

It’s BS how much talent they get access to.

I reckon he just got held himself at the throw in but they let it go because of this.

L watch Grundy in the CBs... he only has eyes for his opponent and almost always runs over to where he is to place a block.  That's his first movement 90% of the time.

That's fine if he gets back to the ball and touches it (according to the guidelines and Razor Ray).

When he doesn't he needs to be called for blocking the opponent's run at the drop but rarely is.

They called him a few times in the first quarter and then put the whistle away after.

You could see Reg complaining as he couldn't believe someone was finally picking him up on this.

He's gotten away with it far too often, especially the first half of the season before some umps started to crack down a tad more.

Grundy 7 touches 5 clangers

Jordon 7 touches 2 clangers. although keeping Butters a bit quiet

Keep trolling away.

How is that trolling? I don't think @Demonsone was talking about their performance in this game.

Its a fact that both wanted to leave the Dees to play in another teams best 22. They did and now they're both about to play in a premiership and have played their roles to get there... kudos to both of them.

Port have kicked 2.3 in each quarter

If they do it in the last Q it’ll be the first time in AFL history

*probably, haven’t checked

I don't believe it is related to the academy. They have built a culture of relentless competitiveness. Have not seen a contest or a chase they haven’t committed to. Have seen Port, similar to last week, just not quite go hard enough when they've needed to. That is the difference between the Syd, Haw, Coll cultures and that of Port and us (amongst others).

Do I really have to explain? The same people saying the same thing for 9 months to provoke a response

Im beginning to doubt the poster is even a Demons fan.

We know the story, Grundy didn’t work so we sent him packing, Jordon not best 22 so he left, fair enough

Can we move on? or say the same stuff every week

So you think if you removed Heeney, Mills, Blakey and Gulden from their team they’d be in the same position?

They have a great attitude but They were gifted the above players that they would never have drafted.

Sorry, I didn't realize there was a backstory to that particular poster actually trolling. My apologies

This Port team is one of the most ordinary teams to finish 2nd.

It seems Port are playing like Melbourne- kick it long into the forward line and hope somebody marks it. Except they don’t.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
