Not sure we will make it through another 6 months

Could have come from someone Kosi casually chatted to perhaps. Could have also been completely taken out of context.

One journalist said he’s homesick. Another is saying it’s the direction of the club.
I have people who know him better than these journalists who are saying he’s very happy.

His manager came out only last week and said he’s happy at Melbourne.

I have no idea where this came from, but I don’t think there’s much to it other than genuine desire to spend more time at home, which is miles and miles and miles away from any football club, not just ours.

We have always been very supportive of him and his family connections and the only thing I believe in this report is that the club and his manager are confident it can be worked out.

Someone from leadership (who was in exit meetings) is clearly leaking to the media.

Farrrrk.  The club has leaks everywhere.  It is like someone calls journalists and provides a transcript.  MFC. SORT OUT YOUR [censored]

One of the first things Peter Jackson did when he came to Melbourne was to put an end to the leaks. Seems we're just reverting to type now but who the hell is doing it? I can't imagine it being anyone in the FD and I would've thought the board are all united behind Roffey but perhaps not. It's disgraceful that after less than a decade of behaving like a proper footy club and achieving some success the facade has worn off and we have reverted back to the rabble we were before PJ and Roos saved us.

This is why I never watch broadcast news.

What is the purpose of leaking negative news to the media?

Nobody in our leadership group needs anymore heat coming their way.

I can't help but think we've brought this on ourselves after we rolled out the carpet and fanfare for ANB when he asked to walk for family reasons

If anyone from the club is reading this forum I’d like to formally put my hand up to be drafted. Admittedly I am 46, and have no left foot, but I can absolutely promise you I have no desire to move closer to my family.

Ever.

Correct

One thing is for sure….STOP DRAFTING PLAYERS FROM WA and SA

Trac?

WTF is going on at MFC? Seems like everyone is suddenly homesick! Is it a “rats deserting the sinking ship” scenario, where those players with currency are the first ones out when they sense the team is going nowhere?

Could this be connected to Trac in some way I wonder?  As in they were housemates and Trac went to visit Kozzie's home in the first documentary (I think last year).  Maybe Team Petracca are using another tactic to blow up the club? Or maybe Kozzie is seeing ANB leave for family reasons and thinks he wants the same?  Please don't go Kozzie!!

Do you know why ANB has asked for a trade? Do you know what his family reasons are?

I assume you don’t, so please don’t make it seem like his reasons aren’t legitimate and that we are bending over for him when we shouldn’t be.

So a premiership player and Brownlow medallist who has close connections to that playing group, can’t  have an opinion on the CEO he played under for 9 years, his whole career basically.

Tell me how that’s irrelevant?

Who cares what Dane Swann thought of Pert? Has no bearing on anything. Just peddling scuttlebutt.

Do you?

Because Kozzie has a young child too, so I don't see significant differences between the two

Because you don’t know why Nibbler is leaving.
I am not going to say anything else as it’s nobody’s business.

Just respect his decision and understand that the club is being accommodating to him for the right reasons.

Firstly let’s not give Swanny any airtime, we’re clearly better than that. Secondly, WTF, I’ve accepted Petracca will likely leave, in fact I’ve moved on to how we are now going to reset for the future with some years in the bottom half. Kozzie? Can’t lose him. He brings an incredible amount to this club both on and off the field. I need to see heads on stakes out the front of the MCG. Then I want to see the club come out and tell us what exactly has been going on and what’s happening next. They’re embarrassing all of us currently and I’m over it. 😡

Iam jack of all this [censored],come on CLUB give us the truth

Kozzy  and  Trac are two of our Top 3 marketable stars.

The damage of the season will be immeasurable.

Head have to roll.

Supporters need to demand action.

Our club is dying

Nobody is saying ANB should not be traded. How difficult would a conversation along the lines of "of course you can go, Alex, but we need to look for maximum value here" have been?

And you know this conversation was not had because….?

You also realize that the club has known about his desire to get home for a while now and are enraged beyond belief that it was leaked early?

Nibbler was open to going to either SA club. Crows were the only ones interested. Hence he is going for maximum value.
With someone like ANB, his value to us was always going to far exceed his trade value. It sucks, but much like with Clarry situation, sometimes doing the right thing by your people is more important than “winning”.

Perty, Goody and the boys will no doubt back themselves to get things right. Our culture is absolutely great.

It is a total coincidence that one of our players is facing four years for a positive test on gameday, another spent all off-season away from the group and didn't fire a shot this season, our best player will do anything to not come back and our most exciting player and most loyal player have apparently decided in the last few weeks they want to go home.

I don't think a Pickett trade will eventuate given his management ruled it out last week - more fool them - but how many more will jump off this sinking ship?

Excuse me "Our Culture is Great"???

Um no its not, its the polar opposite!

Using high draft picks on interstate kids is just the dumbest of the dumb. The big Melb clubs may be able to do it...but with the weaker clubs like ours, we just can't hold onto these guys. The delusions of grandeur seem to spread all the way from fans through to our list management team.

There's enough talent in Vic to focus high end drafting here. Looking for role players at later picks from interstate is OK as they are less likely to be stars who can call the shots.

Yet Cripps was 1 pick in number after Kozzy with pick 13 in his draft and he is captain of Carlton and from WA. Plenty more examples and many of interstate teams having Victorian R1 picks that haven't left. You pick players on needs and best talent available, not what state they're from, otherwise 2021 wouldn't of happened.

I have also heard the club was dirty about this being leaked and we ended up down the route we did to turn it into a positive PR thing to muffle out the Trac noise

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
