Does anyone think that a root cause for the current situation between the club and Petracca is his deteriorated relationship with Clarry?

Not sure if they are in good terms, but they seemed estranged after the whole situation last year.

They may have been at the start of the year but on KB there were instagram videos of Clarry, Trac and Max all spending time together playing chess.

Spargo on crutches.

Oliver after surgery.

This seems quite timely and very targeted.

Is that just players or support staff too. Casey got flogged, so interesting if it was only the playing group involved

I think it would be because Clarry hasn't leaked to the media and also the tone of the criticism of Clarry has, at times, been pretty low-brow.

I agree that some people have been overly critical of Oliver but I also think that the animosity towards Trac has been over the top.

C'mon guys, it's clear that Christian caught up with Lachie Neale so they can compare their recent hauls from Cash Converters.

Shilling for pawn brokers sure enhances one’s character.

My thoughts exactly.

But I didn't get the impression that Petracca was very involved in the whole Clarry saga. I could be wrong but that's how I felt last year.

Btw, I wonder what Petracca thinks after watching his mate Lachie and his team bottling the game against a side that was effectively out of contention.

Fagan and Hinkley could be playing their last season with their respective teams.

I hope Trac reads the statement made by his teammates today. Starting to look like he’s more the problem than our culture.

I can understand Trac's frustrations with the club but his continued silence is honestly so disappointing (especially after a good team performance today). I saw him as a lock for future captain of our club but these are not good signs even if he does decide to stay. In saying that, I'm sure my mind will probably change once and if this all gets cleared up

Agree on this.  [censored] poor not travelling with the team.

Did May travel with the team? I didn't see him, though may have missed him.

His partner is pregnant I think.

His missus expecting a  baby soon I believe.

What is the reason why Trac didn’t travel with the team, I thought maybe due to his spleen and unsafe to travel?

He did not. I believe his partner is due to give birth any day.
He did however post three very positive things on his social media.

He just spent a month in Noosa.

The playing group have a big say in captain selection and leadership group.

This will say a lot about the impact of his actions on the playing group.

I was at the game today and also saw Windsor there in a moon boot. Looks like most of the list was there including an injured Spargs and post surgery Clarry. Where the [censored] was Trac? Speaks volumes. Will be surprised if he’s a Demon next season.

Seemed fine traveling to and from Noosa a couple of weeks ago.

Were B Brown and Hunter there in the rooms too? I didn’t see them in the song clip but that might just be me.

Benny Brown played in the 2s pregame and kicked 6. He would have been there as all the other Casey boys who played in the pregame were in the clip.

I’ve gotta agree with the consensus that Trac not traveling with the team in what seems to have been a team bonding exercise and to show the camaraderie of the group speaks volumes. Very disappointing and very depressing. I hope fences can be mended and that change will come from this.

Think it was just players in the circle, but included Clarrie, Charlie and Caleb who are all injured ATM. I think the only three players not there were Maysie, Tracc and Joel Smith.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
