Fifth he says he does not like our our facilities its a long drive, no offence but you probably only drive there a couple of times a week and probably seldom in peak hour. people travel for hours at peak time. sorry but you sound a little precious with that complaint. remind me again do you do 40 hours of work each week for 48 weeks of the year for your extremely high salary.

Sixth you want to go to a bigger club for your brand - so you trash our brand so you can get out. does not really sound like a team player to me. oh, and that bigger club better be collingwood, carlton or hawthorne. so what is wrong with the West coast eagles and Richmond both have bigger support base than Carlton and Hawthorne.

Seventh the thing that really upsets me is that you are talking about the massive trauma that you have gone through, but are prepared to go and play for the club that did that to you. the club that ended your friend (or may be not your friend) career in last years finals.

i would like you to stay, but to do so you really need to do some self reflection, about sharing and caring about more than yourself.  But if we can get a decent enough deal of your value before you sort of devalued yourself slightly then we should take that trade to end this farce.

The biggest threat to MFC Culture is coming from outside the club. It is nurtured by supporters who willingly buy in to the Media narrative. Tom Morris went as far as to call for our President's resignation on the back of his premise that she had not spoken to Christian since the injury. We know now, from Christian's own recollection on July 1st, that this premise was not the case. Do you expect Morris to acknowledge that he jumped to a conclusion?

It is wrong that someone from his camp is leaking and I agree this is the worst possible way he could have sought a trade, but let's leave the severity of his injury alone. It's pretty well reported it was severe.

he's not the first sportsman to have a serious injury and surgery

that's hardly a good reason to try and break a  long term lucrative contract and throw your own club under a bus

This resentment and hatred works wonders for Collingwood though, so we need to harness it.

Ensure our football club is the best it can be, and use the us versus them mentality to drive ourselves back up the ladder, and we know because we've done it with this playing group before, that we can do it.

Post interview he immediately sprang to the conclusion that she was claiming that the whole issue was a media beat up. That served the narrative that he was looking for... Cameron was 13,15,20 but there was 2 second rounders coming back so it's around the same value.    

I reckon that's the best we can conceivably get. 

Alternatively, we can hold him to his contract and watch him run around half rat pace for a year.  If the guy doesn't want to play, he doesn't want to play.  Good luck with that.

The media get absolutely triggered like a pack of rabid dogs when somebody has a go at them.

I reckon trading Trac fast trac's (sorry) a rebuild, if we run it back next year with the same group we're probably in the 6th - 12th no mans land area, plus the added media pressure and [censored] show of Trac speculation 

You're also taking a punt his value holds in 12 months time if he has a down year given the injury, should he want out then

I know it's a very Americanised take to blow it all up, but if you can sell high (ish) on Trac, and also get multiple first round picks for Pickett (who's return home seems an inevitability at some stage of his career), I'd do it

Absolutely. There's been a lot of talk about how we're not directly hearing from Trac himself, but make no mistake, we're definitely getting signals from his camp, albeit indirectly, through various media channels. While it’s true that some of the reports might be spiced up with a bit of embellishment or exaggerated language designed to increase the clicks, the underlying message seems pretty clear. The consistent narrative emerging suggests that he would like to be elsewhere come 2025.

My Mum had a much more severe injury than Petracca's, with a lot more time in ICU and greater long-term consequences but she still knows how to pick up the [censored] phone and have a chat about what she's getting up to lately.

I'm irritated.

I'm also chronically, almost terminally, patient, and I accept that in a sense this is Petracca's first real collision with adult fear after a life of being the magic prince, so it can be genuinely shocking.

 

Meanwhile, Brand Petracca took a big hit - youtuber Tina Yong tried 'viral Tik Tok rice cooker recipes' and was not impressed by CP5's 'toss some frozen dumpings, soy sauce and spring onion in on top of your rice'. Trac's recipe did NOT get a double thumbs up. Coincidentally it was the first of his recipes I tried myself and, to be sure, it was as bland as Damian Barrett.

Wonder what Trac thinks of the Bont sticking fat with the Dogs - they have parallel stories in so many ways but I wonder if Trac admires his courage to stay or thinks he’s just not reaching/cashing in on his potential

What would be best offer we'd get for kossie?  from Port? Or Crows?  He'd be scary good in that Port team.

They could make this saga into a tv series like Utopia or Succession, because that's how it feels. You've got the Newspaper/Media room, the MFC room and the Petracca PR room with various characters devising various pr strategies, leaking stories, reacting to headlines/news, getting on the phone and shouting, secret meetings in wine bars, with journo's, posing for instagram stories, all with the intention of shifting narratives etc.
